RE: macaroni salad with condensed milk?
This might be the same one--from Taste of Home--I use this one all of the time and the kids just love it!
sWEET MACARONI SALAD
A sweet out-of-the-ordinary dressing makes this macaroni salad special. My aunt gave me the recipe and it has become one of my favorites. I occasionally leave out the green pepper if I know that people don't like it...and it still tastes great. -Idalee Scholz Cocoa Beach, Florida
1 package (16 ounces) elbow macaroni
4 medium carrots, shredded
1 large green pepper, chopped
1 medium red onion, chopped
2 cups mayonnaise
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1 cup sugar
1 cup cider vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
SERVINGS 14
DIRECTIONS
Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain and rinse in cold water. In a large serving bowl, combine the macaroni, carrots, green pepper and onion.
In a small bowl, whisk the mayonnaise, milk, sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper until smooth. Pour over macaroni mixture and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Yield: 14 servings.

FROG EYE SALAD
Okay you talked me into it since I have no idea how to pull it back up like caseygirl does.
1 1/3 Acini de pepe pasta (uncooked)
1 can (15 oz) chunk or tidbit pineapple drained (reserve 1/4 cup juice
1 3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 sml pkg vanilla instant pudding
2 cups Cool Whip
3 cups mini marshmallows
1 can crushed pineapple drained
2 cans mandarin oranges drained
1/2 cup coconut
1/2 cup maraschino cherries drained and cut in half
Bring pot of water to a boil and add acini de pepe pasta and cook 11 minutes then drain and rinse with cold water.
While pasta is cooking in a large bowl combine the instant pudding, reserved juice, sugar and milk. Beat for 2 minutes until starts to set.
Gently fold in pasta and other ingredients with Cool Whip as the last. Cover and refrigerate for at least 5 hours.
It helps to place cans of fruit in frig the night before so they will be cold when you make the salad.
There it is. I cant take credit for it but I sure can eat it. ;)
Have a great day
Phil
I found the pasta at the Kroger's here. Some have said they have a hard time finding it. Its what makes the little froggie eyes. ;)

I have made this salad several times for potlucks, picnics, etc. It is not overly sweet as the vinegar cuts the sweet taste. Its one of those "bowl is always emptied" recipes.

Mary ~ this is somewhat like what you have....this was Mother's recipe -- I would NEVER use anything else.... (I think she added to one from Betty Crocker).

In a bowl~ This macaroni salad is absolutely out of this world, wonderful~ and~ Its the first time I have ever used condensed milk in any kind of pasta salads~ It is creamy and jam packed with great veggies. The dressing is Tangy and Sweet.
Different and no overtones of the Mayo based traditional type of dressing. This recipe makes quite a bit, about 3 large plastic deli containers and I reserved about a cup and a 1/2 of the dressing so that I can freshen it up a bit today before serving. Thanks Linda for this very awesome Mac Salad~ I did invite a few more guests into the bowl as well~ Hey its a party may as well invite everybody~ Janie~

Thanks so much for this recipe - I truly believe it is what my husband would love. I saw this while on line at work and didn't dare cut n paste - now that I am at home I copied it to my files. Again, thanks it sounds delicious.
