ORIGINAL POST: Lost mine--pretty sure I got it from here. It is a 2 or 3 layer cake from scratch, and all I can remember is that the egg whites were beaten until stiff before being folded into the batter. Does anyone have that recipe. The frosting is also peanut butter flavored - no cream cheese in it as I recall. It is to die for.
UPDATE
Recipe for anyone interested...all who've tasted it have loved it!!
1 tsp. vanilla
§ When completely cooled, spread peanut butter frosting between cake layers and on top and sides of cake. Sprinkle peanuts on top of cake if desired. Yield: one 3-layer, 9-inch cake.
Add additional milk, one teaspoon at a time, if needed, to make spreading consistency. Yield: enough to frost a 3-layer cake.
I seem to recall the one that you are requesting and really did think I had copied it but can not seem to find it now. This is the only one I could come up with on the search that seemed even fairly close. But it does have cream cheese in the frosting.

Here is another peanut butter cake recipe.. it is oh so easy and oh so good!!!!!!!
1 chocolate cake mix ( I use German chocolate)
1 large (16oz) sour cream
3 eggs
Mini peanut butter cups ( I buy the ones from Walmart)
Combine cake mix, large sour cream, and eggs into a mixing bowl. Beat until well mixed. Pour batter into a well greased bundt pan. I poke 15 mini peanut butter cups into the batter and using spatula cover peanut butter cups with the batter. Bake at 350 using the directions on the cake box for bundt pans. Cool in pan on a wire rack.. when cool turn over onto a serving plate.
Glaze:
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 tsp cooking oil
Heat in microwave for 1 minutes. stir until smooth. Drizzle over cake. If you want to decorate... use Mini M&M's, chopped nuts. red hot candies.... what ever is festive at the time...
It is a very moist cake and does not last long in my house...
