Shannon your colors that you are thinking about sound really pretty for that time of year!
I love fillings in my cake! :) I did have that option, but since dh is picky I just went with the buttercream icing. He wouldn't like lemon or rasberry and those are the ones I like! :) maybe I can figure out how to post a picture of my cake...?? I will try maybe tonight if nothing is happening...I was really pleased the way my cake turned out. I showed the lady a picture and she done it just like I wanted it.
I ended up fixing a chocolate cake last night and poured chocolate syrup on it and topped it with whipped cream! It is soooo moist and yummy!
I need to get busy and get caught up on yesterdays work since I was off....
Oh BTW I have not had any more dizzy spells, so I think maybe I had some sinus pressure on my ears or something......that night I put in ear drops and peroxide in my ears and it felt better.......
Waving to everyone!

here is a picture of what my wedding cake looked like...(I think this will work! LOL) the picture was taken before I was able to get my flowers on the front of the table.....
Jet, your cake looks beautiful and the flower arrangement looks so pretty too. I bet you had a beautiful wedding. You think sometimes how fast time goes by?
Erna
Thanks Erna.
Its hard to believe that it will be 5 years in October! It seems like yesterday we got married! But when you stop and think about what all has happend during that time its hard to imagine.
Jet, what a lovely cake(s), very beautiful and am sure your guests were thrilled to be able to choose their favorite(s) flavor. Sinus stuff can really affect your inner ear, which can cause dizziness. When I had anatomy in nursing college, I couldn't believe how delicate and intricate our sinus' are, they look like lacework and are quite complicated.
Erna, what flavor cake did DD choose?
Shannon, both those color combos would be lovely. Was at a formal Dec. wedding where the Bride chose cranberry maid's dresses and colors, very pretty. When choosing your colors, pick the color that most flatters YOU.
Hello to Twinkle, Renate, Berny, AZCook, Picasso and all our other friends, lydia.
Hi Lydia!
Bumping for Saturday!
We went to a 40th birthday party last night. It was pretty fun. Have any of you heard of a liqueur called SOHO? It is Lychee flavor so I was looking forward to tasting it. Now I'm not sure if the fruit has the same flavor but this tasted like the gum called Thrills. It says right on the package of Thrills - The gum that tastes like soap! Needless to say I didn't really like it! :0)
It was a pretty late night for me (got to bed about 2) but I was still surprised when I woke up and it was 10:20! Now we are getting ready to go to the lake for one night. It is really coolish the last few days but is supposed to warm up tomorrow. I hope so as DS is wanted to do some water skiing and wake boarding.
Berny, never heard of a Lychee flavored liqueur. DH is in the spirits industry (no, not ghosts) and there's all kinds of el-wierdo stuff out there. Many times (in my young life, lol) I water skiied when the air was cold, but the water was usually warm. Same in the ocean in December - last year the temps were in the 30's, the ocean in the 70s in the shallows, to about 5 ft. Then the woolball routine, your son will be fine.
My next-door-neighbor, about age 65 would jump into Lake Michigan in wintertime almost every week; he was German. Sweared it did his "constitution" good - he also used to sunbathe in his speedo on a tinfoil mat in the middle of winter in Chicago. He was rather eccentric, lol.
Lydia, DD had a small cake just for her DH and our dessert where petite feurs and chocolate covered strawberries. I ate a strawberry and the juice went all over my dress. Thanks god it happened just before the reception was over, but we went afterwards to a fancy restaurant and I just sat there not moving. I don't know how I happen to miss the cake cutting and the father and Daughter dance. I think I was looking fir my BIL outside, couldn't find him anywhere. Oh well, it was fun and just great and this is the main thing. DD is married today 1 week.
Berny, I have leechy liquer in the house. I got it from a friend and as much as I do like the fruit, I am not crazy about the liquer.
It's been a long time since I water skied, but I never was very good in it, but it was fun.

Erna, oops, had forgotten that DD had the petite feurs. So, that mean strawberry had to get your dress. Weddings can be very busy for the families. Like Jet said, my sis didn't even remember alot of her wedding. Between being nervous, excited, making sure everything was "just so," the guests enjoying themselves, the food, etc. Good thing they had a video guy.
"Tide to Go" pens are something I always carry in my handbag, even evening bags. You wouldn't believe how many times it gets used.
Berny, we're getting Canadian winds from the NW - temp. dropped about 15 deg. yesterday to low 70's. Here in SE Wisc. about 60% winds from Renate's area, SE, other from NW Canadian winds. Did DS go skiing? Like Erna, I used to luv to water ski, but haven't done it in 25 years, DH doesn't like boats.too much.
Renate, hope you enjoyed "Carmen." While I would like to go to the opera, DH would definitely fall asleep. So, we buy the CDs and enjoy at home. That's sweet DH buys you flowers too.
Jet, I just read on "Prevention"s web site. A good homemade remedy for sinus pressure is 1 tsp. table salt dissolved in 6 oz. of hot water, then sniff/inhale the steam. Worth a try. My dad is big on natural remedies - when my sons were getting acne several years ago, Dad told them to put egg white on their zits (they were less than impressed, lol).
To all our friends, may you have a restful, safe Sunday, lydia.
Hi All!
Just checking in quickly and bumping up.
Jet,your wedding cake looks beautiful! I only have pictures in an album. This were different times. We had classical music and the local radio station recorded it. For me it was a beautiful and meaningful wedding.I am only married 42 years, since I got married late and I don't know, where the time went.
Lydia it was very humid yesterday ,since we had a thunderstorm on Friday and rain. ---How can your DH fall asleep,he is Italian and they have opera in their blood. In the Italian section of St.Louis, caled the Hill,a Italian lady just started another opera company and I heard all performances were sold out. This was in February, when we were out of town. This is the third opera company in St.Louis.When I came here in 59 ,there was not one opera company here ,in a large city like this.I just could not believe. Things have changed.
Shannon ,I made the peach tart from Paula Dean. you posted. It taste great, but it needs some tapioca, since it is a little bit runny.Maybe the crust could be baked 5 more minutes (20 minutes),before one puts the filling in and before the whole tart gets baked.
Wishing all my friends a nice Sunday!
