I have heard some people say you can freeze fresh corn in the shucks; just put it in the freezer. Has anyone here done this. If so, how did you do it? Thanks.
Yup that is the easiest thing in the world to do. There is a couple ways you can do it too.
1. Smaller ears can go into freezer bags - then freeze
2. For the middle to large size wrap in newspaper and freeze. That's it!
I always use the second method over the first, cause I never get any small cobs. How do you cook your then?....
Thanks so much for the information. I'm getting corn today and simply do not have time to freeze it. I plan to give it a try.
How do you cook it? In the husk? I do - microwave in summer and oven in winter - yum! You're lucky you can buy it today - farmers in our area won't have it ready for awhile. How much do you pay for four corn?....
I do it every year during corn season. I just toss it in freezer bags and freeze.
When you have it in the winter it tastes like you just picked it.
