Again with the cabbage...anyone done it? TIA
My mom freezes cabbage and has never blanched it. She only uses it for soup after it's been frozen, but it's always been fine. Just put it into the soup frozen, it's no good if you let it thaw first.
I don't blanch my cabbage. I just slice it into chunks and freeze it. It will turn off color when it's frozen. And don't let it be frozen for long periods of time, or you will see ice crystals in with it. It is wise to use in soups.

It never occurred to me I could freeze fresh, cut up cabbage without blanching first. Thanks for info!
