Does anyone have a recipe for homemade
    vanilla ice cream that contains
Cool Whip. An elderly friend of used
to make this and it was so wonderful.
I once had the recipe, but lost it
and would love to have it again.

    Thanks

I have a recipe for a chocolate one made with cool whip. It tastes just like a frosty from Wendy's. The recipe is at work though, not here at home. Let me know if you want that one.

Hey I have a recipe for ice cream made with cool whip. It's not vanilla but I bet if you changed it to regular milk instead of chocolate it would work. Here it is.

    Butterfinger Ice Cream

    6 large Butterfinger Candy Bars
    1/2 gallon chocolate milk
    1 large tub cool whip
    1 can sweetened condensed milk

Crush candy bars and sit to the side. Mix cool whip and small amout of chocolate milk together. Stir in condensed milk and stir. Add remaining chocolate milk and candy. Freeze in ice cream freezer as directed by the manufacturer.

Note: If I was going to make this into vanilla, I would add about a teaspoon of vanilla flavoring.

This makes a very delicious and creamy ice cream.

    Enjoy

Thanks so much Susie. I think that must be the right recipe. I never cease to be amazed at the knowledge
all of the members on this board have
    about recipes.

Again, you are so great to take the trouble to send the recipe to me.

    Thanks,

Do you think these recipes could be made without the ice cream freezer?? I don't have one.

Here's the chocolate ice cream like a Wendy's Frosty

    Wendy's Frosty

    1 can Eagle Brand Milk
    12oz. carton of Cool Whip
    1/2 gallon of chocolate milk

Mix eagle brand milk and cool whip. Slowly add about half of the chocolate milk. Pour above mixture into freezer part of ice cream churn. Finish filling up to freeze line with chocolate milk. Freeze according to instruction of your ice cream freezer.

To hvacwife: I was thinking the same thing. I am going to try it by just mixing well, then freeze in shallow pan(s), then mix again with mixer and freeze.

On the subject of homemade icecream. does anyone know of the "coffee can icecream. I guess yiu add the ingredients to a small empty can of coffee and place that inside a larger can (empty of course) and fill container around the smaller can with icecubes and salt. Seal up both cans with their respective plastic covers and roll between two kids for about 20 min. voila, icecream!!! What do you think, would it work with these recipes???
