Good 4th of July morning, my automatic alarm went off as usual but I remembered that I didn't have to work today so I rolled over and grabbed a few more winks. I hope you all have a nice relaxing day and don't forget to fly your flag. Off to sip some coffee and read the paper. BBL. Depo!!!

Red decided at 4:00 it time for a pet and eat and go outside. I went back to bed but didn't sleep so will get up and start to cook and bake. I have enough to keep me busy.

Dennis - It sounds like a perfect morning for you.....getting a little extra sleep, reading the paper & sipping on your coffee!
Marlene - I am not surprised that you have a lot of cooking and baking....you make some great stuff & I wish I was there to sample some of it!
We just had a light rain shower pass through....but the sun is out now even though parts of the sky are still cloudy.....Paulette would love our weather.....hot and humid. DS's girlfriend got here yesterday & we had a BBQ before they left for a minor league baseball game. Everybody is sleeping in so I'm off to exercise classes and then DH and I will go put down blankets to save a spot to watch fireworks later on tonight in our downtown area.....they put on a great firework display & it's always so much fun to watch. We are going over to our good friend's sister's house for 4th of July party....our whole family is going & they have a pool, lots of drinks, whoo hoo, and lots of food. I'm making an Asian Salad (the one with cole slaw mix & ramen noodles, sliced almonds, etc.)....they asked me to bring that so it's all ready in the fridge ready to go. After the fireworks tonight, everybody comes back to our house to light off fireworks in the street....I have a big watermelon sliced for people to nibble on. It'll be a late night, but it is the 4th of July so why not party all we can & celebrate!!! lol.
I wish you all a great 4th of July! I wish we could all be together and have one big fantastic party!! Now that would be a celebration!

Good morning everyone
DH went to work this morning for 5 hours. He is on a contract basis employment and they have dies that need to be built by a certain time and since we are not doing anything, I got him out of my hair by sending him to work.
Went to the grocery store and Starbuck's was giving away a FREE cup of coffee. A little strong but all right. I asked for a little ice to cool it down so I could drink it. The girl just looked at me like I was crazy. They had our favorite brand of ice cream on sale. Save 1.99 per what used to be 1/2 gallon. Good price so I stocked up. My freezer in the basement is getting full. It all has to be eaten by the middle of September.

Just had my shower and sipping coffee til time to go to work, my first day alone. I better get my running shoes on. I now know why they pay pretty well because you do the work of 2 but I like it as the day really goes fast.

We had a very noisy, wet night without winds. We needed the rain so badly so it was great. Our crops and the garden are at a critical stage so it was a million dollar rain for us. Our area had been in a dry poccket with most of the rains giving us a few drops or splitting and going both north and south of us.
Heading to town with a list of DH's errands and need to do a grocery run.

Good morning everyone ~ It was a late long night at our house. DS had gone to work at 7 am yesterday and then he had to work until 1 am this morning. The sewer lines blew out at our local annex building. They hauled 3 truck loads out. The truck holds 2300 gallons! Thankfully he has the day off today so he slept in a bit and he is planning to rest today. DH is working. I have the butter and eggs out to make cookies later. Depo ~ Those automatic alarms can be a good thing during the work week but not so good on days off. Want to say thank you to you and all the veterans for the sacrifices you made to ensure our freedoms we enjoy today. Hope you have a good time at DB's house.
Marlene ~ Sorry to read about your SUV. DH must feel so awful about this. I hope you are able to get it fixed quickly and inexpensively. What will you be cooking and baking today? I plan to make oatmeal raisin cookies and oatmeal raisin chocolate chip cookies. My guys are going to be so happy!

Vera ~ How nice that you got a free cup of Starbuck's coffee. My DM always ask for a glass of ice water to go with her coffee just to have something to mix it with as it is usually stronger than she likes. That's a great sale price on the ice cream. Oh how I love it but cannot have it due to the food allergies.

Pat ~ Good luck getting the list of errands and the grocery shopping finished in record time. We could use some more rain. The weatherman says it is possible today. We will see.

Rosa ~ I made 2 Betty Crocker recipes today. Brownie'n Berries Dessert Pizza and Zesty Potluck Pasta Salad and also did the Marmalade Meatballs in crockpot. They have been ready will go eat at 6:00 church.There is no breeze outside at all. We have 90º on computer. Sure would like to see a rain with the corn tassling.

Pat, It is hard for me to remember that you folks don't do the 4th. Duh!!! Just doesn't enter my mind.
Rosa, I am doing the kitchen and pantry in black/grey and white using red highlights......my favorite part is the wallpaper border for the pantry....it should totally pull the pantry together I am so anxious to finish it, however, with painting over stained wood....you have to leave so many hours inbetween each coat.....and the final coat needs to set a week before using. Are the cookies ready???
DS and I have made good headway today.......I am about down for the count.....he still is a 100 miles an hour. LOL. Enjoy the remainder of the day.

I'm home and as usual I'm very full.We didn't have the usual potato salad and pinto beans but had stuff out of our garden. Cantaloupe,watermelon,fried eggplant, sliced tomatoes and onions. Also had shredded pork sandwiches,cloeslaw,plum tart,chocolate cake and peach cobbler with ice cream.Just roll me into the living room in my wheelbarrow and dump me in my chair.LOL Depo!!!
