Good morning friends.
Last night we ended up ordering pizza.
Tonight we're going to have bbq spare ribs.
Enjoy your day.
Steak on the grill later for us! I put it in some balsamic marinade, it should be yummy!
Need to sort out something for lunch though, with Mr. working nights we try to have a meal at noon together. This coming up with 2 major meals a day isn't always easy.

Good morning~ Nice to see you join us today Sue. Two major meals a day is alot to think about. I will fix smoked chop for DH tonight he loves them and are not my favorite so will find something for me later.
Ready to start the week off here. Have to take MIL to eye Dr. tomorrow after work and dentist Thursday. So will be a busy week. DH leaves Friday for Canada.
You all have a nice day and TTYL.
We're very busy today. Haircuts are on the agenda along with a trip to the lab and library. And it wouldn't hurt to do a little laundry in my spare time.
Dinner tonite will be spaghetti and meatballs. Wish I had some of your's, Nancy.
Have a lovely Monday, friends.
Laundry is in the dryer and I'm heading for the gym -- moving a little slower this morning since I don't have to be at work till 11:00. Pretty happy about that.
We had such a good day yesterday. DS#1 came over for lunch -- DH cooked steaks on the grill -- and I had some time just to visit with my guys during the afternoon. Then at church last night DS#2 shared about his trip to Africa. Just a nice low-key day with my family -- I really enjoyed that.
I'm going to stop at the store after work today because I am out of coffee! So unless DH has something else in mind I may pick up something quick for dinner while I'm there.
I'm up early since we are going out to a couple of the national parks for the day. At least we hope to make both of them. Canyonlands is about 65 miles away. Arches is just outside town.
If we get back in time for me to fix dinner, I am hoping to fry some fish, have corn on the cob, cottage cheese, and I bought a carton of already prepared mac & cheese.
Glad you had such a nice weekend Elza. Those steaks sound great. I'm not sure we are allowed to cook out here-I believe there is still a fire ban.
DH;s sister decided to stay over 1 more day, so after brunch at Peggy's we left to do laundry. She met us there then came out to the campground to visit a little more. Then we all three went into town and had a great dinner at the Moab Grill. If any of you find yourselves in Moab, this is a good place to eat! She is leaving today to go and visit her daughter over in Cedar City.
Lori, I hope today is smooth and uneventful. Glad DH is feeling better.
Time to head out...have a nice day!
Happy Monday friends.
Whatever I eat for dinner will be diet TV dinner and either salad, slaw or pickled beets. Oh yum, LOL!
I was planning to mow the lawns but DS might be coming to take me for my new iPhone. Haven't heard yet but dressed appropriately in case.
Elza, sounds like you had a wondeerful Sunday with your family!
Marlene, I would gladly help you with running your DMIL to her appts if I was nearer to you. You have so much to do these days and my life is rather boring lately. I better cross my fingers for saying that, lol.
Tammy, enjoy your day at the state parks. Sounds fun.

Elza, Sounds like you had a nice day w/ your family yesterday.
Helen, I'm sure your S&B's are delicious.
Did anyone watch TNFNS last night? Next Sunday is the finale. At this point I'm cheering for Martie. I didn't find Justins dish w/ aspic last night appealing at all.
Tonight it's Hell's Kitchen and Master Chef. Looking forward to those shows.
Good afternoon What's Cookin' friends.
This morning I had to run some errands, including going to pick up a duffle bag I won when I took part in a health contest back in May. Took me alot longer than I had planned it would due to a major rain storm that came out of nowhere. Oh my goodness, it came down like I've not seen before--I actually had to pull over as I couldn't see. Then when I was able to see, there was wide spread local flooding to deal with. What a mess, but I'm happy I got the duffle bag-it's really big and nice. Think I'll use it on my upcoming trip.
Dinner was a surprisingly tasty experience today. A few weeks back on The Chew, Mario Baali made Black Beans and Egg Taco's (he had challenged his family to live on the amount of food stamps that a family of his size is provided, $124.00). It really sounded gross at first, but the dish looked very appealing and interesting to me. So, after listening for weeks to DH say no way was he going to eat this for lunch, we did today. Let me tell you, it really was so good and filling (DH had 6, I had 2). I did make a few minor changes, but I will be making this again, with DH's approval.
This Thursday and Friday I have a two day workshop to attend on a new practice the state of Florida is moving towards beginning with Kindergarten teachers this year. It is my hope that before then I can finish up cleaning and organizing my office. So off I go...Have a good one.
Don't forget, for those of you that watch it, He**'s Kitchen and afterwards is Master Chef this evening.
Edit to say yes Nancy, I did watch TNFNS last night. It was so good!
My break from school is quickly coming to an end. Where did it go? I loved every minute of it, but it looks like it's going to be cut short by a week. The new principal just called to informed me that on the 7th of Aug, there is a report card revision class he would like his Kindergarten teachers to attend, and on the 9th and 10th, he's got a two day workshop planned for all his teachers to attend. Yikes--27 hours of training the week before school starts on the 14th of August! Wish I was better at saying no.
cooktocookWish I was better at saying no.
Couldn't you tell him you are going to be out of town
Lori, where has the summer gone to. It seems you only just got out of school and I love your chatty posts while you have the time for them
It's still hot & humid here but we golfed anyway, early, this morning. There was a little bit of a breeze which certainly helped. Then lunch at our favourite coffee shop, some errands and then a visit with a friend who has just spent a month in hospital and still has a long way to go. But he's positive and hopefully he's well on the way to better health altho he still has one more surgery at least to go thru. Sure make me appreciate good health.
Everyone's meals sound good and I have absolutely no idea yet what we'll eat tonight. Sue, it's bad enough somedays coming up with one meal, let alone 2. Good luck with that one. Tammy, hope you get to both of the parks. If not, can you go another day?
Have a lovely evening,
We have arrived back home. We got all through Arches and the northern road that leads into Canyonlands. We also drove out to Dead Horse point. DH will have lots and lots of photos to post on facebook today. We have all day tomorrow also to tour the area. We are hoping to drive out to the LaSal Mts. We leave on Wednesday but will probably only drive 75-100 miles south of here, then camp for a couple days to go and tour Mesa Verde and Natural Bridges.
Sorry to hear about the newly scheduled meetings Lori. Your summer break is really short now.
I did watch TNFNS, and I too am rooting for Martie. I did vote yesterday, and will vote for her again today as soon as I finish here. Hers is the only show I would maybe watch. If it comes on at a decent time for me, I would like to watch her show. So many of the new people, they put the show on Sunday morning, and I am almost never home then. Luckily we do have a dvr. I see where Melissa D'Arabian has a new cookbook coming out, based on her Ten Dollar Dinners. I liked her show whenever I have caught it.
Better go and thaw my fish out while i'm thinking of it.
We had beef tips with mushrooms and onions and mashed potatoes. Easy simple for a hot night
