Good morning friends.
Grilled pork chops tonight and the sides are TBD.
Enjoy your day.
Good morning friends. It’s late Thursday night. It was hot and humid for us today at 93° when I went to get pond conditioner. My house is steaming and still hot at 11pm. Wed it looked like rain all day here like Betsy said but never spilled a drop of rain like they predicted...it just made it warmer and more humid which feels hotter as you know.
Lynne, welcome back! It sounds like it was really comfy on your kids side of Los Angeles. It’s always cooler near Santa Monica than here for some reason? Glad you enjoyed yourself but real glad your back visiting us again!
Ellie, sending healing hugs your way and hope your feeling better by morning. Like Tammy said, take those pills and keep ahead of the pain.
Lori, oh my what a short summer you have had it seems. Seems they are piling even more on you and the year is not started yet. I just know you will probably enjoy retirement when the time comes to get a rest (or will you know what to do with it, lol?). Enjoy your trip to see DD and DSIL but somehow I know you will.
Marlene, glad you were able to get a little pampering…you deserve it girl!
Nancy, glad the storm was not bad for you. I saw pics on the news that people took above the city with that wet looking weird looking wet/water spewing cloud and oh my lew that looked down right scary to be under. It looked rather bizarre that cloud thing.
I am thinking maybe tonight I will make the turkey low cal burrito or something with ground turkey. I will have the marinated cucumber, tomato and onion salad. It's someone's Moms (Im thinking Helen's?).
Later Friday night DS is coming to spend the night and very early am I will take him to the airport for his flight the skating Nationals. It’s televised again the year so I hope he gets to narrate some this year. It’s always fun watching and interacting via the computer with him and everyone in the audience that I know while the skating is taking place. It’s like being there w/o the humidity or the big $$$ involved for the plane fare, the room at the Cornhusker Hotel and the $$ to get into each event. I am waiting for them to start charging for the live feed. I better hush lest I jinx it LOL.
Happy weekend dear friends and a shout out to evryone I did not mention by name and all of our missing posters who I still miss seeing on here.
~~The most important things in life aren't things!~~
Good morning everyone. Happy ice cream soda day! Don't think I'll be having one to celebrate, but maybe I'll sneak in a small bowl of the cold and refreshing treat later tonight.
It's a steamy and humid morning. Woke up to 82*, climbing early in the day up to 93*.
Dinner today will be a taco pie.
Enjoy your day--I'll stop back by after I get home this evening.
Good morning~ It will be another hot one here. So glad its TGIF!!! Will get a few groceries and just snack for supper. No big meals for a week! DH left for Canada this morning. So Red and I will be bumming for a week. Sure wish we could get some rain here. Our lawn is so brown.
Good Morning all!
My heart is breaking for all involved in the Colorado shooting. What possesses a person to take another life is just incomprehensible to me. I get teary eyed if I accidently hit a turtle or frog with the car. Bless the families of the victims.
It is supposed to be 109 here today, but we did get a little rain last night. Some areas north of us are still without power as the lightening storm was pretty bad.
Nancy, I finally got in the pool last night and you are going to believe this: I got cold! Our water hardly ever gets warm and after the sun goes down it gets down right chilly. I am going to go back our today after DGS goes home and soak up some sun
Someone asked a few days ago how old he is. He is 2 1/2. And just walked in the door. Talk to everyone later.
Finally Friday -- thank goodness!
I heard about the Colorado shooting when my radio alarm came on this morning -- unbelievable. DS was at a midnight showing here in Louisville last night so I was thankful to see his car in the driveway this morning.
I'm having a hard time getting moving this morning. Need to make one stop before going to work at 10:30, so I better get some coffee in me and get going.
Dinner will be whatever DH feels like fixing tonight, since I work till 7:00.

Stacey w/ your temps reach 109* today I'm sure that cool water is going to feel quite refreshing. It's raining here today and in the 70's, I love it! I think instead of the pork chops I'm going to switch to Baked Peach Glazed Chicken. Perfect day to put the oven on.
Welcome back Lynne!
(((Ellie))) Sending healing hugs your way. This gives you a good excuse to eat soft foods like buttery mashed potatoes, ice cream, chocolate pudding, rice pudding, milk shakes .
Jan, How exciting for your DS! Let us know when we can view it as well.
Marlene, Now Red has you all to himself. I can tell he's a big mush who loves attention. I walked DD to our friends house last night so the kids could watch Wipe Out. Mr. Muffins followed us and he was in the back yard meowing for me while my friend and I played cards. We just love that cat!
Tasty, What is your mum up to these days? How have the temps been in England?
Helen, Where did you end up eating last night?
Elza, I can understand your relief to see your DS car.
DH is out in the truck, and ready to head out for our day of exploring Mesa Verde. I'm still inside piddling around, and he's waiting......so what else is new? Ha ha.
Glad you had a nice day at the workshop Lori. Enjoy today also. Bet you just cannot wait to leave and get to KC!
I did watch Dallas this week, but I forgot about it last week. Even with missing a week, it is still hard to follow all the twists and turns of the plot. Rebecca is pregnant now - with twins, and a dna test showed that Christopher is the father. He insisted on the test. Marta jumped out a hotel window and so she's gone from the show now, but JR is a suspect since he was the last to see her alive and was seen leaving her hotel room. Hmmm...do I really want to stay tuned in each week? Not so much.
Hope you are feeling better today Ellie.
We had a storm roll in lastnight. We watched the very black clouds roll toward us. Then came the strong wind, and then the rain. Luckily it was short lived. Never lost power.
Not sure what is for dinner since I'm not sure when we will get back home today. I am thawing a couple of pork chops for tasty's dijon pork chop dish. I think that sounds fairly quick to make. I also have some chicken breast to cook up, for a chicken-broccoli-alfredo stuffed giant shells dish. I doubt I would have time for that after getting back home unless we want to eat at 10 p.m.!
We are driving through Cortez, CO and we hear they do film developing there, so we are going to drop it off, go to Mesa Verde, then head back in to town and get our pictures.
Have agreat day everyone!
Good Morning all, tis me the jumping in to my fav. forum.
Jan I watched your son's rolling skating program a few years ago, I forgot how to call it up on the computer, if you can please let me know again. I really enjoyed it, I love roller skating and wish it would be an Olympic event. Nancy your visitor cat looks just like our Ginger, she found us one night and has been a loving addition to our full house. I am really a changed person, I never did like
cats but now with the 3 (stooges) I am hooked. they sure do work their way into your heart.
I am at work so must leave, take care all and please know how much I enjoy
visiting each day. take care Shirley

Shirley, so darn good to see you post today. I sure miss you posting! I surley will post the link to the US Artistic Roller Skating meet as soon as someone lets me know which link to use. I think there are two links if memory serves and one is better than the other and if DS narrates sometime during the 14 days he will be there I will post it so you can see it if you like. He has several National skaters so it will depend on times and practices, looks to be a busy couple of weeks for him.
My heart goes out to the families of the people lost in that tragedy last night. It also goes out to the family of the young man who did this because he had such a bright future ahead and he is clearly mentally ill from listening to the news report just now. So sad and such a waste of Gods precious gift of life!
Elza, I woke up in the night and heard the news about the shootings on the radio and couldn't go to sleep until I heard where it occured because I knew your DS was at a veiwing of the show last night. So glad your DS is safe!!!
We've been waiting around for the doctor's office to call in a prescription. That finally happened so we'll head out around dinner time to pick it up and while we're out have dinner, too. Last nite we ended up with breakfast for dinner (which I never do) and it was quite good -- a Hubby pleaser.
Way cool to be able to see and hear your son on tv, Jan.
Shaking my head in disbelief over the Colorado shootings. :(
Dinner is grilled sausage and peppers. Cupcakes for dessert.
Enjoy your evening.
Hi once again. It's later and I'm not sure if anyone will actually see my post tonight. However, I don't know when I will be ble to post tomorrow, so I'm going to take a few minutes to do so now.
Shirley, nice to see you post with us again. Please pop in when you can--you've been missed.
Jan, Shirley beat me to the question asking for the roller skating link. I'd love to view this, and would enjoy possiblly getting to see/hear your DS.
Tammy, thanks for the Dallas update. Honestly, not sure if I will continue with the series--it's just not as appealing to me as the original was. So how was Mesa Verde today? Did you and DH see or find anything special in town?
Stacey, 109*-OMG, it's hard for me to picture. DD told me she has seen two entirely different forcasts for the first few days we are in KC. One has temperatures with highs only in the 90's, and the other with highs ranging from 105*--109*. Regardless, it's going to be hot. Your DGS sounds like a doll--I love his age group--so sweet.
Marlene, while you and Red are "bumming it" this coming week, be sure to treat yourself to something special. I know Red is going to be extra happy that he will have your undivided attention and the extra petting he'll get.
Helen, hope you enjoyed dinner out this evening.
Nancy, enjoy those cooler temperatures while they last.
Elza, I was very concerned this morning when I heard about the tragic shooting that took place at the Batman movie. I thought of you, DH, and your DS and was on edge until I found out where it took place. Thank the dear Lord your son is safe. I am distraught by this very sad event today and still trying to process it. I am praying for all those hurt or killed, and yes, even for the killer himself and his family. So, so sad.
Not excited to hear DD and SIL were planning to attend the Batman movie tonight or tomorrow, but they feel that this would be the safest time to go with the extra security and screening they will be doing.
Day 2 of the workshop wasn't as fun as the 1st, yet it was meaningful. I felt good knowing I had a heads up on the what the district is aiming for and although this is a "learning year" again, I see some good things to come down the road. At the end of the day we were all surprised to find out that even though we were originally told there would be no stipend, we would indeed get one for the 12 hours. That made a good thing a little sweeter!
Going to quickly watch Triple D on the Food Channel, then jump into bed--I'm tired tonight. DH and I are considering going early tomorrow morning to a "Christmas in July" parade and arts and crafts show.
Edit to say hello to Betsy--you snuck in while I was typing. Have a relaxing evening with your family.
To those not mentioned by name, know you are thought of too.
Just a note tonight-it is 9 p.m. here and I stay up until midnight our time, so usually check in with the BB before going to bed.
I was remiss this morning in nor mentioning my sad feelings about the Aurora shooting. No excuse except that I was in a hurry. Of course, it is tragic and I feel so bad for families involved. All day long I have been saying prayers for all those poor people.
We had a nice day, saw most all of the cliff dwellings-from a distance. We did not make the hike to any of them. It was about 93 but felt hotter, and there were warnings about it being a strenuous trek. We had lunch when we got to Cortez, I just had a salad. Since it was 5:30 when we got back to the drugstore to pick up our photos, we decided to eat some dinner while in town. We shared a Mexican platter-your choice of 3 items. Actually it was not very good. Just OK. The place was packed and when we left there was probably 15 people waiting to come in. The weirdest thing of all was that the table behind us, there was a single man eating and he was using CHOPSTICKS! He was not even Oriental! I couldn't believe it. I never would have thought you could eat chips and salsa with chopsticks. I've seen everything now.
The only thing we bought today, souvenir wise, is a dvd of America's national Parks.
Tomorrow we leave and are going to find an rv park near Gallup. DH requested that our mail be forwarded to general delivery, at a little town just outside Gallup. We'll be there for an unknown length of time, waiting for the mail packet to show up. If it happends to be there Saturday, we'll leave and head on to Santa Fe, or maybe Albuquerque, and make a day trip to S.F.
Have a super weekend.
