Off today to see a friend in a one woman show- it's about Totie Fields- you might remember her- great commedienne...my friend Nancy did this in NYC and has traveled with it...should be fun! Steve and I are goig to the matinee..
Still following up on the banking issue- hope all is resolved safely- and if only the crooks and scammers put their energy and talent into doing good things, things would be so much better...

Janie I would sure like to have lobster tails for $4.99 a pound wow gf I hope you eat enough for all of us that love them.
We went out to the bar with the cheap steak tonight and it was just as good as last time and we have a ton of steak left over. We had a nice surprise when we got there some friends were already there and they invited us out to their cottage after dinner. A very nice A-frame with lots more room than I ever thought one would have but it did have an addition on the side probably not original to the house.
We have finally had some rain and actually quite a storm on Wednesday night lots of trees down in places. Erica had a huge one blown down over her sidewalk that just missed her garage. Not near enough rain the ground just sucks up every drop the minute it hits and hardly looks moist. We are to have a little cooler weather and I look forward to it.
I hope you are all fairing well and will look in tomorrow.

Nice to see you all checking in with your updates- it's amazing how often I think of all of you- and I always refer to you as my friends...I will say..." I have a friend who teaches in Wisconsin" or something similar...and I always note the weather and picture you all in your states...
Had a good trip to the play yesterday- a friend does a one woman show " Adorable Me- the Totie Fields Show" and she was great...the theater was a bit further away than I thought, but it was an easy trip and we had a good time!
Steve has steak and I had a brat last night- still don't want to challenge myself too much.
Today our neighbors leave for a week at the Jersey shore...we have their nice big lab to wtch- poor guy will be alone all the time- as much as I don't want to take a pup to the kennel, at least they are safe, have some activity, etc...this poor guy will be all alone except for our few daily visits...they get home Friday.....gonna be a long week...
Well, speaking of pups....I'll check in later...

I meant to tell you we've been having some of our small tomatoes- very lovely! The heirlooms and Big Boys are getting big- although not ripe yet- and the Roma tomatoes are looking good! I think I'll pick up some small mozzarella balls today to make a caprese appy on a toothpick...yum!
Gm Friends ! Brats sounds very good M. Mr was able to pick up some veal sausages last week. We really enjoy them. Sadly they are not available all the time. Awwwww poor guy. But I am sure he feels better in his own home. And i know Auntie m will take good care of him. Is this the neighbor that had the cat you cared for?? That poor thig I really felt bad for.
Slapped some dry rub on a slab of ribs yesterday so today I'll slow and low bake them. Then onto the grill they will go. Going to make a small side of summer spaghetti salad which will get personalized according to what i can dig up. I did pick up some broccoli and I have a big tomato waiting in the wings.
Carol , Sounds like you had a lovely evening. Storms are 60% here today. Sounds like that was one bad storm. Very scarey. Love the rain but hate to see the damage that can go with it. Our first storm in the Caribbean is moving out. It went through Jamaica yesterday and will be heading towards Mexico.
Going to enjoy the Lobster tomorrow.
We may have gotten a little wind and rain from the storm bands as it made it's way up from the Windward islands.
. Had a little rain last week. Thats long gone. Week is looking cooler.

Janie I didn't hear any music from the link, just saw the chat about it.
M I loved Totie Fields it's funny how much I enjoyed her and Red Skelton, Martha Rae and those old timers and I can not get into comedy today. I think much of the humor is gone and dirty words that are meant to funny has taken over. I bet your friends show was wonderful. Have you ever seen the monolog done but Jeanne (?) about the southern pound cake now that's funny. I hope your neighbor has a/c and keeps the dog comfortable at least poor thing is probably use to this kind of treatment from them. I'm sure they see no reason to pay for a kennel when they have you.

Well, the pup was happy to see me- and I turned on the AC and left a fan on when I left...they are perfectly nice people, but it is quite an imposition...this is not the cat guy...he's another story altogether! Well, it'll be my good deed of the week...I should probably leave the TV on- or a radio...Steve will go over and hang out a bit later...but it's a 4 or 5 times a day responsibility...
We'll do some chicken on the grill tonight- some eggplant and a tossed salad to go along..I'm being careful- and am making my good l/c choices again...
