    Good morning friends.

Heather, I'm sure your guests will love your cooking and those of your church.  God bless you for doing so much and having such a busy life of your own.

It was 93* here yesterday and more to be expected today. Not so bad tho. I do enjoy nice weather and getting time outside.

    Enjoy your day.

    Nancy

Hi Nancy.....it's been hot here in South Jersey as well.  I really can't believe it's already August...UGH!  I love fall but that means back to work for me.

I won't be cooking today either....think my husband and I are going to a local winery where you can bring a picnic dinner and sip their wines.  Sounds like a nice evening out....so when he suggested it, I was all for it.  Sunday I will bake a glazed pineapple ham, mac and cheese and a veggie.

We ended up going out to eat last night, at an old local deli downtown. It's right across the street from a historic theater that's been restored -- the kind with really fancy decorations and carvings everywhere. Anyway, they do a classic movie series there every summer, so after our sandwiches we went to see "The Maltese Falcon." Lots of fun.

Here's what the theater looks like:

Today, I'm working and then tomorrow we'll be driving down to SC for a few days. So dinner tonight will be something without a lot of leftovers! Maybe pizza, or maybe bacon and eggs. We'll see. I know, I haven't done much real cooking lately but hopefully I'll get back to it. I want to fix some things to stock DS's freezer when he starts back to school, since this will be his first year living in an apartment instead of in the dorm.

Well, anyway, have a happy Saturday!

    Good Morning,

I am so tired from this heat. Even though I have central air, it draining when you go out. I try to do my errands in the morning. Tonight we are having BBQ Chicken, Corn on the Cob, Rice a Roni.

Have a good day. Waiting to watch the new Pioneer Woman show.

    Hi,

I only have one minute, as DH just said he's ready to go. He wants to go by the bank on the way to our friends house. Not sure when or where we are going out.

This town has really grown since we lived here. We did come through maybe 8 years ago (?).

The temps are hot here. It is running just over 100. Thanks goodness for AC!

    Have a fantastic day!

Hot, hazy & humid are the words to describe what it's like here today.  I just checked the weather forecast.  My thermometer that is outside, in the shade, says it's about 97 but the weather channel says it feels closer to 108.   Way too hot to be doing much.  I went out to pick beans and tomatoes this morning.  The beans are now in the freezer and I used a couple of pounds of one particular heirloon tomato and made a spaghetti sauce, using Italian sausage meat and onions & peppers from the garden.  The sausage has given the sauce a nice , slightly sweet, taste and I have had no need to add any herbs whatsoever, just a little garlic and a tiny bit of salt Yes.  The skin on these tomatoes is green in places, shading to a dark red and I wasn't sure how the sauce would turn out - the flesh is a dark red but the sauce has turned out to be a lovely bright red.  Really pleasedBig Smile  Guess it doesn't take much to make me happy.

Sure didn't take long for laundry to dry this morning, but it's all done, washed, ironed and put away, just the way I like it to hapen.

Hope you have a lovely day,

    Tasty
