Good morning! May I?
Doris- what a long trip for you and DH...and how scary to have to travel through the fire area....this country has had way too many fires this year- the huge Colorado fires, the recent Oklahoma fires- and yours...terribly destructive!
I hope your weather can break soon...I still can't imagine the high temps so many of you have had...
You did a great catch up, by the way...I still owe one...
The pork was great! It was a 4 lb. roast- a bone in shoulder, I think- and we put our good rub on it and rubbed it with some barbecue sauce and let it go- did it on high for 1 hour, then turned it down to low for about 7 or 8- doesn't make much difference...it was so moist, and the juices were great! We just pulled it and Steve made some eggplant to go along...great! We have a 6qt. oval crockpot, and it's perfect for this kind of thing! We have talked about bringing it with us when we go away in a couple of weeks...we'll be hosting our families at the B&B in the Finger Lakes...so we'll have the whole place to ourselves...
Well, Fester is looking at me with great anticipation...so we'll mosey outside..
Waving, sending hugs and my wish for a great day!
M.
Gm Everyone! How wonderful to see just about everyone stopping bu or some of M's great Java ! Sounds like much has been going on. These busy days do hapen and the samething witht he computer break downs.
Linny, Mine too acts up. I just seem to want to once in a while. Well I was told to expect 2-3 years of good service and that is what it has been. One things for sure. i nevr start and leave messages or posts. Guaranteed to lose them for sure. I know what ya mean by quiet times. We all adore and love our company but a nice day of nothing. A very good thing.
Carol, Fridge is done. Once again I found a mystery guest tucked away. I have no clue. It can be a surprise to see long ago friends. i get our high school newsletter each month. And each month a student of of high school is highlighted. Many times the small biography called Where are they Now is included ) Many times a photo is included. Talk about surprise. wow! So I can imagine your surprise. But it sure sounded like nice reunion.
Doris, I heard about the smoke and how it was effecting people. What a long ride for you and hubby. But one has to what ever it takes to keep in good health. Funny Mr just said last night. What Dr;s appt do we have tomorrow. I said none just my Pt but Friday is your eye exam at Wills Eye . I am afraid we have turned to Pills and Dr's. Mostly for check ups and preventive medicine. Our Cardio check ups are right around the corner. then when we arrive in Croix in Oct. Dental check ups ! 6 months really does come around quickly.
Produce sounds wonderful. We are due for some severe storms Friday. Our weather is on a close watch.
Figures we will be in the City. But thank goodness the parking is below the Hosp. All one needs to do it to take the elevator up to the offices. Freak lightening strikes lately with people carrying umbrellas. Very scarey.
Ann, Glad to see you sweetie I bet the nice little break feels good ! And you are getting mr pickles ! That sweet dog. Ok Fester you too handsome ! Carol, How is you Pup doing? Hope the meds are helping him along. All of our pouches mean to much to us. We love them dearly and we are as dedicated to them as they are to us.
This note s getting into the danger zone so I'll send it along.
Have a great day My is it ever foggy out. Feel like i'm somewhere in the Amazon. Crickets chirping as well for special effects .
Janie
Hi-
Well, a nice quiet day- a bit warm ( so what else is new?) but fine. Been picking lots of little tomatoes- and the big ones are starting to come in...also the Roma tomatoes...can't wait!
Did sign up for one last PT tomorrow- just a consult to get a firm fix on what exercises I should be doing- how often, etc...need to make a firm committment and a chart will do that for me...
Going to cut up some mozz and make our caprese type salad...with fresh parsley and basil from our garden..Yay!
Off to visit the other pup- he's a lovely lab, and I know he's so lonely...we do go 4 or 5 times a day, though...his family will be back Friday- thank goodness!
Have a good evening, and I'll look for you all tomorrow...
Hallelujah!!! it's raining and a nice soft rain to boot. Boy do we need this and I hope it keeps up all night.
Doris it must have been scary to go thru all that smoke and hard on your lungs too. There have been so many fires everywhere we even had a 102 acres burn here and it's a marsh area that is dry so there is peat underneath that keeps starting up again so the rain may put it out for good. During the summer once the Packers start training camps people can go watch I have no idea as to what the prices are but you can meet the players sometimes and get autographs at least a friend of mine did. Take care on your trip to the doctors tomorrow.
Tomorrow we are going out to stay with the kids so Jenny can go on an all girl ATV ride of coarse if it's raining that could put a damper on the ride, pun intended. I've got school supplies for the boys to take out and then we will bring there camping stuff back with us. Bev and I are going to pick up the big boys on Saturday so they can come and camp in our yard. Haakon is still not over his fear of being sick so he and Maggie will stay home.
Sam is doing OK still having issues but doesn't seem to be in pain. Thanks for asking Janie. I have been using up leftovers in order to clean out my fridge. On the news tonight they said Wisconsin had the highest average temperatures for the month of July in the Continental United States I do know it was warm.
Here's hoping you all have a great day tomorrow with good stuff to do.
Carol
Good morning....may I?
Carol- sounds like some fun family time planned- and I also hope your rain keeps up ( or, rather, comes down! ) I did notice the WI reference on TV...we have the Giants training camp in Albany- they come up for a few weeks- stay at the University and have open practices and autograph sessions, too...very good!
Steve is going on a 75 mile bike ride on Sunday up in the Adirondacks- he'll drive up Sat., camp out and go the next day- then camp out Sunday night and come home early Monday morning...he's got reservation in the state campsite, so he's looking forward to it...my idea of camping is going to our camp..
Janie- I hope all of your important upcoming Dr appts are quick, easy and painless! You have to be the most organized woman to keep all of your appts straight- whether here or in Croix... You and Doris would have a lot to chat about!
PT today- to get my "marching " orders...I still have anger about how my knee became injured- and don't think it'll ever be right...PT can make it better, but it won't "fix" it.. OK...last little whine...sorry
Well, Fester is looking hopefully at the door, so I think I'll get him out for his morning walk...
I think I posted this before...it's a good think to save!

Pt finishes up tomorrow. Then its up to me.
Fun plans Carol, Bet the kids are gonna love it. I hope the weather holds out for them. Our boys always loved to camp out.
We may have some storms moving in tomorrow. The rain is welcome but the lightening no no .Glad Sam is holding his own. Meds do make a difference even for our pups.
Pullled a skirt steak out for tonight. .Think I will make a few deviled eggs. I have a new recipe that I want to try. And a Ceasar Salad sounds good as a side.
Its quickly heating up so and I wanna get those Roses done so I shall wiggle outside.
Wishing all a great day. hey Barb How's the fishing !
Have a great day .
Lobster Fritters ! I may have to get 2 more before the sale is over. Delicious little tasties ! Not l/c but what a fabulous treat ~
Good morning! I'll pour while the Happy Dance warms up!
Janie- I hope you have an easy trip into the city today- and a good appt for Mr...hope the weather cooperates!
Got a call yesterday from a theater friend at 7:30 AM...he was at the theater and couldn't relock the door- well it ended up totally off the hinges, so we had to get the city to come help ( it's their building- and old firehouse) and these are huge -heavy- glass doors...long story short, we have someone coming Monday to make a permenant repair...it works well enough to get us through the weekend..but what a mess! That pretty much took up my morning!
Errands today- phone calls, etc...not much shopping to do, but I need to get my lists made for our trip...our neighbors come home today- their sweet pup will be so happy not to be alone so much! It really isn't kind to have him left like that- not kind to him...not to us...our other neighbors will be gone for a few...so we'll do paper and mail for them...we have that sort of neighborhood- we try to help each other!
Fester is telling me I should help him outside...so I'll see you all later...
May I just say... OUR TOMATOES ARE GREAT!
Have a great day!
Whoo-hoo!

Steak was awesome and so ws the grilled green beans.. I must thank Jolene for that little tip. And thanks to lindas steak tip our steaks grill perfectly. Put them in the freezer for one hour prior to grilling.
I will say that this method is for thse that like a med rare steak.
Too bad M, Its always something just like a Home!
Will try to do a better catch up later on.
Thanks for the link. That is a great little site.
Have a great day
Good Morning Girls,
Janie I hope your trip into the city is painless in every way and that the weather holds off until you're home again. Good luck to both you and Mr with PT and doctors.
Yesterday we were out in some black skies but couldn't complain about the rain and there was lightning or thunder. It has cooled off and felt so good. Today is sunny and beautiful. Ended up not going to Jenny's because of the weather she couldn't go on the ride and since we go to pick up the big boys tomorrow there wasn't much sense in running twice.
Margaret I am so envious of you getting tomatoes. Roger planted in pots this year and we have gotten all of one tomato but I did pick some up from an Amish lady and Jenny will give us some tomorrow. I wonder how the door got off it's hinges at the theatre. It kind of makes me wonder if someone tried to break in. How did your last PT go did you get a list of things to continue with?
Not too much on my list today except for Bev we picked up her walker yesterday she flew thru the mall when we left the store for a woman who didn't want this she rather liked it. It's not something she needs at home or anywhere you can take a shopping cart but she will need it to walk in the yard or street not that she does a lot of that either. The only problem I see is that she can't lift it on her own and if I'm with her she doesn't need it. Oh well.
Have a good one.
Well, the rains came- and stayed...lots of thunder around, too. Did take some of the heat away- but it'll be back!
The neighbors came back and the dog was happy to see them...we were, too!
Carol- glad the walker works for Bev- and do encourage her to use it- even when you're there...I know you're looking forward to getting the boys tomorrow...what fun you'll all have!
Janie- I hope your trip wasn't too strenuous...hope all went well!
We're having burgers, green beans and a salad tonight- sweet and simple..I did make a run to the wine shop for some "necessities"...
Have a great evening, and I'll look for you all tomorrow!
Hey ya'll
It Friday, and I am doing a extra happy dance. After two days of testing, and several months of great concern over the condition of my health, it's now final, no cancer. Still got to really crack down on the diabetic diet, and I am going to get these last ten pounds off.
Sigh, it's always something
Patrice
OMG Patrice I had no idea you were struggling with a treat of cancer. May we say some Hallelujahs that it is now behind you and you are perfectly well. I'm sure you will get rid of the 10 pounds and be OK.
Take care.
Hi Girls,
It has been another busy week and will be busy this weekend too. Today I took Mom for her hair appointment and shopping and tomorrow Shaley and John will be here for dinner and then Sunday Matt, Jessie and Liam will be here for dinner. So no rest for me! lol Oh well, one of these days I'll rest. I'll have to try to get caught up at a later date.
I have a recipe I want so share. It sounds good to me. Here it is:
FISH AND VEGGIES PRIMAVERA
1 Tbsp. margarine, melted
4 fresh or frozen orange roughy (6 oz. each) thawed
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
Pinch of pepper
1 garlic cloved, minced
1 Tbsp. olive or vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups broccoli florets
1 cup cauliflowerets
1 cup julienned carrots
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1/2 cupsliced celery
1/4 tsp. dried basil
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Place margarine in a 13 x 9 x 2 in. baking dish; add fish and turn to coat. Sprinkle with lemon juice and pepper. Bake uncovered, at 450 degrees for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium heat, saute garlic in oil. Add the next 7 ingredients; stir-fry until vegetables are crisp-tender, about 2-3 minutes. Spoon over the fish; sprinkle with cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 450 degress for 3 to 5 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork.
7 carbs per serving. Didn't say how much fiber was in it. But I'm sure the total carbs would be less than 7 gr. of carbs.
Have a great night and a very good weekend.
Linny
