I just happened to see Patrice's message. I am so thankful that you got such good news about your health. I didn't know you were going thru that either. No wonder you are doing a double happy dance today! That is such good news and a great relief to you and your family too. Big hugs Patrice and now it's time to go celebrate!
Linny
Good morning...may I?
Well, I'm suggesting we do another round of the Happy Dance in honor of Patrice's excellent news! What a frightening time you must have been having....glad things look so good!
Linny- so nice to see you- and you are as busy as always! How is John feeling? I'd say thanks for the recipe...except for the fish part!
Not a lot planned today- Steve is going up to the Adirondacks today for a long bike tour tomorrow- 75 miles...so he'll go today, stay overnight- do the ride tomorrow- stay overnight again and come home Monday...I kind of wish he weren't going, but...he does love it- and he'll enjoy it..
Fester is looking for his walk...so I'll see you later...
Waving and sending hugs!

Good morning friends! Just cannot sleep any longer today so I thought I'd pop in. I've been gone for a few days on a trip with my friend Teresa. We drove to Minnesota and enjoyed some shopping and sightseeing. Much, much fun!
I was so happy to hear of Patrice's good news! Joining in with my own big, "HOORAY!"
Well, the summer is winding down and now all thoughts turn to preparing for the new school year. When we were at the National Eagle Center in Wabasha, Minnesota on Thursday we attended a great educational program and there were many grandparents there with grandkids. All of the kids were sitting on the floor listening intently and enjoying the presenter and I realized that I miss school. I am ready to go back.
I'm jealous of all the talk of great tomatoes and must go to the farm market this morning to get some for myself.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
Gm Everyone, What great news. Hooray is right. Wonderful news Patruce. I can't imagine the worry. Mr also got great news. Eye pressure is down so he'll go back in another 2 weeks to see if it has stayed down. if so, then the other eye will get done.
It rained cats and dogs in the city. By the time we left the sun was out and the heat returned. Pt went well and is now Out the back door !!!!!!! Yes ! Much to dance over.
Carol, I can see Bev buzzing around in her new little go about. People had best get out of the way ! lol Best tell her there is a speed limit ! Honestly I have seen those little racers in action . They can really move !
I put a tomato plant in a pot as well and it's very small as well. But the plant didn't have any tags so it maybe a patio tomato. It looked so healthy when I bought it and I was more concered with that verses the specis.
Connie, Sounds like you had a nice get away. By now the kids must be getting anxious to return to school. I know you will have some good programs in place.
Linny, Lady you are a busy bee. I didn't know our teams were doing battle yesterday. We nipped ya by 2. That recipe looks wonderful. My kind of meal. I will copy it down. Sure seems easy eough and one cannot argue how healthy it is. I may switch out the fish as Roughy is not always available. Cod would work.
M, What a beautiful area Steve is in. Its been years since we last visited there. Perfect place to be when the temps are sky high. So you hit the watering hole as well. We ate at out favorite llttle places last night. They offer outside dining. And it was a perfect night for it. The temps dropped and when th sun went down it was very enjoyable. Its a Byo. and Mr picked a good one. I'll pass on the name . Its a red wine and it went very well with the house speciality Veal Parm. I had a Chicken special. His was better!
Started out with Steamed Mussles in a white sauce. MMMMMmm No desserts.
Everyone enjoy the day. I think we are going to get Rain . I can smell it

Hi-
Connie- glad you've had a good break- and it's nice to know you're looking forward to going back...I was always ready..I sure loved my job!
Janie- so happy Mr made out so well- and your dinner sounds great! Thanks for posting the link to the recipe!
I came across a recipe from Everday Food- the MS mag- very nice- easy to carry into waiting rooms, etc!
It's for a cucumber salad.
You take a veggie peeler and make long strips of an English cuke- the recipe calls for 3 of them. Go only as far as the middle "seed" part. Save one of those middles. Finely chop 2 stalks fo celery and a bit of sweet onion- put into a bowl wirth the cuke ribbons. In a food processor, put the middle part you saved, 1/4 cup of mayo, 1/4 cup of fresh cilantro and 2 1/2 tsp. champagne vinegar- add S&P and toss all....looks very good- except to Barb who doesn't like cukes, I think...
OK...time to turn on the AC...already muggy..
Back later...
Good morning! May I?
Steve is waking up in his tent in the Adirondacks- preparing for his 75 mile bike ride today for the Adirondack Bike Tour 2012...yesterday, while packing, I heard him say "ouch" and he admitted to a twinge in his back , so as he was leaving he said " I'll see how I feel tomorrow"....but he may not do the whole ride...we'll see.
I hope you had a good day yesterday, and hope you have good plans for today!
My neighbors stopped by with a gift cert for our local market for $75 for watching their pup for the week- that was nice...( and did they ever get a great bargain...)
Fester will be going to sleep-away camp when we go away ( we don't tell him it's a kennel) we hate leaving him, but he'll be safe, have company and be fine until we can get home and spoil him again!)
Saw a good looking recipe on Jacques Pepin's show "Essential Pepin" and he made a fresh zucchini and tomato gratin...baked with parm and bread crumb topping...very tasty looking!
I know tomatoes are a bit more carby than some other veggies, but I am enjoying the heck out of them! Good lycopene, good vitamins, and amazing flavor...summer tomatoes...! We will have the neighbors on alert to help themselves when we are away...
Off to take Fester for his morning stroll...I'll stroll back here later to visit!
Have a great day, friends!
Good Morning,
Gpa, Mason and Colton spent the night in the camper and the boys are back to the computer. They are on a website that lets them build cars that run an obstacle coarse that they also build it's actual interesting to watch.
The pudgy pie maker broke making the first sandwich so I finished them in the house. We'll make a run to Wal Mart and look at theirs lunch is hot dogs on the grill they can put them on the wire holders and grill them just like over a fire. It's shame the burning ban is still on but then we don't want to start any fires around here better to use the grill.
We brought some beautiful tomatoes home from Jenny's and a couple of green ones so I will make fried green tomatoes I haven't had them in ages.
Margaret I use to like to Jacques and Julia Child together but then I did love Julia anytime. It's nice that your neighbor did at least gift you with something and yes they did get a bargain. I hope Steve's back isn't bothering him too much.
Sam was so happy to see Roger and I when we got to the house yesterday and other than him being on the thin side he looks good and did go out with his Gpa a couple of times. I think he was hoping Roger would slip him a loaf of bread to make him happy.
I had better get myself busy so we can make the trek downtown.
Carol

M, That was a nice litle gift. And i know you felt good doing it. Being that you are such an animal lover.
Fester you have a great Mommy ! Meadow. Hi Sam Wonder if Mr pickles is visiting grammy?
I had best bust a move. Or the wacking will not get done.
Have a great day whatever your plans maybe .
Barb, Have a safe drive back home.
NO Pt Tomorow !!!!!!!! I is Done !
Carol- it sounds like the boys are having such fun...in spite of the no burning restrictions...sounds like a great computer place for them!
Janie- happy for you pt is done! Go, girl! I'm sure you'll have a good time with Blair and family..every day brings him a day closer to being well again...sending him some healing hugs!
Here's the link for Jacques...http://blogs.kqed.org/essentialpepin/tag/zucchini-and-tomato-gratin/ and also in that episode were a cauliflower gratin and an atrichoke dish that looked great...
Well, Steve's bike had a problem with a pedal ( namely- it broke) so he came home...he did have fun camping out, and was grateful he wasn't 1/2 way through the ride when the darn thing broke...so we're going to toss something on the grill and relax...he normally would have been riding for 7 or 8 hours today- then spending another night up there..
Waving and sending hugs...I'll be back ( perhaps) after wine dinner!
