I know it can't be put directly on the burner, but can it be put under the broiler and not break. Hope someone has the tried and true!

You know.... I never gave it much thought. When I make my Shrimp Scampi I always put it in Pyrex and under the broiler. Guess I'll have to find me a different dish.

NO, NO, NO, NO NO. I think most pyrex pieces say no more heat than 375º

Once when we were away, son put a 9 X 13 pyrex dish under broiler. It did fine until it hit air temp where it exploded in a gazillion-plus pieces. Luckily he was not hurt from flying and hot pieces. We found pieces around kitchen for what seemed like forever!

Thanks everyone for all the info...I guess I won't try it. But what does everyone broil in, such as broiled fish...haddock, etc?

Gosh, I always put pyrex dish in oven when I make my chicken rice dish. Course I cook it at 350, but never thought i couldn't put it in broiler too. What do you use in broiler?
