  • Double yolk egg--good luck or bad
I am wondering what the legend is on this. I just finished out a carton of eggs and the last two each had double yolks.

I thought it was good luck..until I had all the ingredients in the bowl and add the baking soda...then thought oh...no... it was supposed to be baking soda?!

So...am I doomed or can I expect something wonderful??

    lol

recently bought a carton of a dozen eggs which boasted 50% of the eggs as double-yolkers. Turned out all 12 were!! So I guess its good luck for egg marketers!

I drive to the country and buy eggs with double yolks.I like to eat soft boiled eggs and like the double yolks. I baked with it and my recipe said 2-3 eggs,Iused two eggs.
With the good luck, thats an old wives tale. One should have good luck all the time, not only when finding double -yolkers.
I don't know, why you had to dump your dough?
Testing something raw with soada might taste not too good. I just would have added some baking powder and I am sure the cake would have turned out OK.
