    Drumstick Appetizers (Chicken Wings)

Mix the sugar, cornstarch, ginger and pepper. Add liquids. Cook, stirring constantly, over med heat until mixture thickens. Boil 2 mins.

Brush over wings. Continue baking at 400 degrees for about 35 mins. During baking, brush soy mixture on wings frequently. Serve in chafing dish.

    Chicken Quesadillas
2 c shredded cheddar of Monterey Jack cheese
    6-Flour tortillas
    1 c shredded cooked chicken
    1/4 c slied green onion
    *diced tomatoes, or salsa*
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a large baking sheet. Mix cheese, chicken, green onion. (*I also add either diced tomatoes or salsa to mixture, whatever I have available). Spread approx 1/3 cup mixture evenly over half of each tortilla. Fold tortillas in half over filling. Cut each tortilla in half. Bake 5 mins, or until cheese is melted. Serve with sour cream & salsa. Makes 12 quesadillas.

Can be made ahead of time and refrigerated.

I haven't tried these in the microwave yet, but I believe you can just pop them in and heat until the cheese is melted and the filling is heated through.

    Super Bowl Sunday Bars

    2 (8-count) cans crescent rolls
    2 cups sour cream
1 envelope ranch salad dressing mix
    2 cups chopped fresh mushrooms
    1 cup chopped tomatoes
    1 cup small broccoli flowerets
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
    1/2 cup chapped green onions
1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

Separate crescent roll dough into 4 long rectangles. Press crosswise over bottom and sides of ungreased 10x15-inch baking pan; press edges to seal.
Bake at 375 degrees for 14 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely.
Combine sour cream and salad dressing mix in small bowl; mix well. Spoon over baked layer.
Layer with mushrooms, tomatoes, broccoli, green pepper and green onions.
Sprinkle with cheese. Cut into bars.

Says 60 servings, but I didn't get that many. I cut my bars too big.

Comments: I didn't use mushrooms on mine. I just added enough additional vegetables to make up for them. You could use cauliflower too, if you like it. I got this recipe out of a cookbook the Girl Scouts were selling, titled "All American Snacks from Hot Dogs to Apple Pie". My GD was in the Girl Scouts.

I am making this today, as I am having another gift exchange with my family. Good luck on your New Year'
    s Eve celebration.

WElcome! I put on a big New Year's spread. Here are a few I use...
    Lois
    Bacon Dip
    1 # bacon
    1 cup mayonnaise
    1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    white melba toast
Fry baon crisp-crumble and mix with mayo and pepper. Dip on melba toast and I sometimes add sliced cherry tomatoes to garnish side of dip.
    ------------
This one sounds gross but is good!
    Broccoli Salad
1 bunch of broccoli, cut into bite sized pieces
    ! pound bacon, fried crisp
    ¾ cup raisins
    1/2 –3/4 cup sunflower seeds
1 small red onion, sliced thin
1 cup Mayonnaise (NOT Miracle Whip)
    2 tablespoons apple vinegar
    ¼ cup sugar
Mix together broccoli, raisins, red onion, and sunflower seeds.
To make dressing: Combine mayonnaise, apple vinegar, and sugar. Toss into salad. Sprinkle top with bacon pieces.
    -------------------
    Carmel Crispx
    1 cup butter (not margarine)
    2 cups brown sugar
    3/4 cup light corn syrup
Bring the butter, brown sugar and corn syrup to a boil. Boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. I put the whole box of Crsipx in a huge bowl then pour the cooked mixture over the cereal and coat well. Bake 1 hour on cookie sheet at 200-250 (I used 225) Stir every 15 minutes. I imagine you could add nuts but my family doesn't like nuts so I don't.

I'm big on shrimp and ham for New Year's. Easy, doesn't need heating, and high in protein (only drawback is the cost.)

Might try this, it's quick and you can let your little helpers peel them up when they are dry.
A box of the mini Ritz crackers with
peanut butter filling and a block of
chocolate dipping bar (or can use white if you want. Melt the bar, dip the crackers in to coat and dry on a waxed paper. They taste like Kit Kats!
    A friend of mine does the regular sized Ritz crackers and her son spreads them with the peanut butter and puts the "lid" on and she then dips. But those make a pretty big snack. These little ones are a lot less trouble, and you can just pop a couple in your mouth and go on. :}

I just got this from a friend and made for the 1st time on Christmas.

    Swiss Cheese Spread
    8 oz cream cheese softened
    4 oz grated swiss cheese
    1/2 cup real mayo
    2 Tbs. chopped green onion
    1 sleeve Ritz crackers, crumbled
    3 Tbs. melted butter
    Bacon bits

Mix cream cheese, swiss cheese, mayo and green onions & spread in pie pan.

Spread crumbled Ritz crackers over mixture.
    Pour butter over top
Sprinkle bacon bit over the top
    Microwave until cheese melted

Spread on bagel chips. I used sesame bagel chips.

NOTE:the next time I make this I won't use a whole sleeve of Ritz, I thought it was too much. Depends on size pie pan.
    Enjoy,
