  • Baked spinach recipe?
Hi all! I'm looking for a recipe for baked spinach that I've eaten at two local Chinese buffets. I can't identify all the ingredients, but I'm sure it has garlic in it and some kind of melted cheese on top-I don't think it's mozzarella, but looks like it. It doesn't seem to have a lot of ingredients. Can anyone help me identify this dish?

I have eaten the spinach dish you are talking about at Chinese buffets. Look in the search engine to the left. Type in Baked Spinach, then have it search. There are some really great recipes already posted. Go search.

    3/4 stick of butter
    3/4 lb fresh spinach
    1/4 tsp nutmeg
    1/8 tsp pepper
    3/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup grated romano or parmasan
    1 1/2 cups milk
    4 eggs (beaten)
1 cup fresh white bread crumbs
(about 2 1/2 slices bread run
    through food processor)

Heat over to 350 deg. Grease an 8" round casserole dish

Wash spinach well and remove stems. Chop spinach.

In saucepan, melt butter. Add spinach and cook medium heat for 5 minutes. Remove pan from heat and stir in all ingredients.

Pour into dish and bake until golden and set. (50-60 min approx?)

TIP: Kraft sells a finely shredded cheese blend in the dairy section called "three cheese" It has Romano, Parmasan, and Asiago mixed. I use it for this recipe and many others!

Also, for gluten free, I have made this recipe without the bread crumbs and it didn't seem to make a bit of difference! It was delicious.
