I'll try to post as many as I have time. Here are the first three. These are all for the cookie press.

    Snow flakes 12-15 min @350
    1 c shortening
    3 oz. cream cheese
    1 c sugar
    1 egg yolk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. orange rind
    2 ½ c sifted flour
    ½ tsp salt
    ¼ tsp. cinnamon
cream shortening and cheese, add sugar gradually and continue beating.
Beat in egg yolk, vanilla and orange rind.
Stir flour with cinnamon and add to creamed mixture.
Decorate with colored sugar , cinnamon sugar or chopped almonds.
Remove at once from sheets and cool on wire racks. 6-7 doz.

Quick mix spritz 10-12 min. 375
    2 ¼ c flour
    ¾ c sugar
    ¼ tsp baking powder
    ½ tsp salt
    1 c shortening
    1 egg
    1 tsp vanilla
sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. With pastry blender cut shortening into dry ingredients till consistency of fine lumps. It will resemble pie crust or biscuit mix though not as coarse.
Measure the egg in a measuring cup. A large egg will measure ¼ c. If it does not add water to the ¼ cup line.
Add egg and vanilla to the mixture and beat well. Remove from sheet at once.
    5 doz.

    Vanilla cookies 8-10 min 375
    ½ c shortening
    1 c sugar
    2 eggs , beaten
    1 tbsp. cream
    1 tsp vanilla
    ½ tsp nutmeg
    2 ¼ c sifted flour
    ¼ tsp baking powder
    ¼ tsp salt
cream shortening and sugar thoroughly. Add eggs, cream and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture ,mixing well.
    Bake -yield 4 doz

I posted all the cookie recipes in the book. I believe there are 7 posts. I had 2 mirro cookie presses. one was copper and this one is aluminum. I wish I still had the copper one. One of the regrets was giving it away.
    Oh well, live and learn.

I believe they stopped making the mirro cookie presses at least a few to several years ago.

Thanks for the recipes. More importantly, THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES. I just crawled around on the floor to get into the cabinet under the bar and found my Mom's cookie press. It is the aluminum Mirro cookie press and the postmark is still visible. It arrived in time for Christmas in 1953. That year we filled the kitchen with cookies.

If I remember correctly it was a flash in the pan sort of thing and we didn't use it much after the first couple of years, but we had a ball making cookies. I recommend getting one if you get the chance.

    Again, thanks for the recipes.

BTW, beside the cookie press I found the Ecko Miracle French Fry Potato Cutter!! Both are in their original box.

I may have to try the french fry cutter just so I can say I did!!
