  • Questions on a 3 lb boneless turkey breast
I just bought a 3 pound boneless turkey breast. I have off from work tomorrow, but I have million things I need to do. I was just wondering if I put this turkey in my crock pot add some broth, and spices, and maybe cook for about 6 hours on low. Do you think this will work? I am really not sure if my children will be home for dinner, but I still want to have the meat cooked, and if no one shows up, I will have cooked turkey meat for a casserole. Am I making myself clear, it has been a long hard day at work. Would appreciate any input? Thanks Gail

I did on for Christmas, and I put it on the night before, and added the gravy packet that came with it plus alittle water. It was so good, thinking of doing another very soon..

I have tried this one posted by Susie Creamcheese and it is very good.

    TASTY TURKEY

    1 bone-in turkey breast, thawed
1 can cranberry sauce, any kind
    1 pkg onion soup

**Make sure the turkey breast you get will fit in your crock pot!!

Put turkey breast in crock pot, add cranberry sauce and onion soup. No need to mix them together, but you can if you want. Cook on high for two hours and on low for 5-6 hours. Enjoy

I also tried the version posted by SusieCreamCheese and it was very moist and very tasty. However, if I were to make it again I would probably only use half a can of cranberry sauce or none at all as I don't like my turkey so sweet tasting. The 5 hours of cooking was plenty.

    Turkey

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
    -------- ------------ --------------------------------
    1 Package Herb-seasoned Stuffing Mix -- (8 oz)
    1 Onion -- chopped
    2 Celery ribs -- chopped
    1 cup dried cranberries
    3/4 cup chicken broth
    3 Tablespoons butter -- melted
1 frozen boneless turkey breast -- (3 lb) thawed
    1/4 Teaspoon salt
    1/2 Teaspoon pepper
    1/4 Teaspoon dried thyme
    1 package turkey gravy mix

Coat inside of 4 qt electric slow cooker with cooking spray. Add stuffing mix, onion, celery and cranberries. Combine broth and melted butter. Pour over stuffing and stir gently.

Remove string from turkey breast and rinse. Place turkey in slow cooker on top of stuffing. Combine salt, pepper and thyme and sprinkle over turkey. Cover and cook on high 1 hour. Reduce to low and cooke 5-6 hours or until a meat thermometer inserted in turkey registers 170.

Remove turkey to a serving platter. Stir stuffing gently in slow cooker; cover and let stand 3-4 mins. Prepare gravy and spoon stuffing around turkey on platter.

This is really tasty and easy.
