  • Need recipe: McDonald's Jalapeno relish
DH remembers there was some kind of Jalapeno relish served in a little packet. We can't get it any more (I was thinking they only have it in the morning for the breakfast burrito's) Can some one help us figure out a copy cat recipe????

I don't know what McDonald's tastes like but here is mine. I use half jalopenos and half hot banana peppers and double the recipe. It is so good and makes a wonferful tartar sauce for fish.

1 ½ lbs jalapeno, banana, or Anaheim chili peppers or a combination
    1 medium onion, chopped
    3 c shredded cabbage
    1 ½ c apple cider vinegar
    ¾ c sugar
    ½ c water
    1 T pickling salt
1 T snipped fresh cilantro, optional
    1 t celery seed
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    ½ t turmeric

Wash, remove stems, and chop peppers. In a 6 to 8 quart stockpot, combine peppers and remaining ingredients. Mix well. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. Boil for 8-10 minutes or until thickened, stirring frequently to prevent sticking. Immediately fill hot pint of half pint jars with mixture, leaving 1.2” headspace. Process in a water bath for 15 minutes.
Makes 3 pints or 6-7 half pints.

(Recipe from Heinz Successful Pickling Guide)

I use half jalapenos and half hot banana peppers.
