I have a wonderful recipe for uncooked chili sauce that I want to make today but it calls for a peck of tomatoes. How many tomatoes are in a peck??

Thanks so much for the help!

Wow Laurie you have got some work cut out for yourself today! Have fun and try to stay cool while working those things up. By the way, grab the salt and pepper shaker and eat a fresh one for me! Have a great weekend, Connie formerly csharris_la

A peck is a volumetric measurement, that is, a measure of volume not of weight. There are 4 pecks in a bushel and 2 gallons in a peck. Therefore there are 8 gallons in a bushel. In your situation a 5 gallon bucket would be 5 divided by 2 or 2 1/2 pecks. I hope that helps.
