My favorite is the To Die For Crock Pot Roast that was posted on this website some time back. I don't have my recipe with me right now, but if you do a search, I'm sure it will turn up.

My husband's favorite is when I cook my pot roast in the crock pot along with 4 beef bouillion(not sure of spelling)cubes, seasoned salt, pepper, and garlic powder with enough water to cover. I add my celery and onions along with these ingredients as well. About 2 hours later, I add quartered potatoes and whole baby carrots. Cook until tender. I wish I had a written recipe to give you, but I just wing it.

    Hope this helps,
    Hey_Mom

    TO DIE FOR BEEF ROAST

If you would like to cut down on the salt in this recipe, use only
half an envelope of ranch salad dressing mix.

    1 beef roast (any kind)
1 envelope Hidden Valley Ranch salad dressing mix
    1 envelope brown gravy mix
    1 envelope Italian dressing mix
    1/2 cup warm water

Place roast in crockpot. Mix contents of all 3 envelopes and sprinkle
over roast. Pour water into the bottom of the crockpot. Cover and
cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours.

Serve over mashed potatoes or hot buttered egg noodles.

This recipe is actually from TOH, and it is a favorite of everyone who tries it!

Italian Roast Beef (French Dip) Sandwiches
    (Mom3boys)

1 Chuck Roast (about 3 pounds)
    1 pkg. "Au Jus" mix-dry
    1 pkg. Italian dressing mix-dry
    1 can beef broth
    1/2 can water

Spray your crock pot with PAM. Put chuck roast in it. Combine all other ingredients and whisk till smooth.
Pour over roast. Put on lid. Cook on high for 6 hours or low for 10-12 hours. Take out beef (it will fall apart) and cut off fat. Shred & put meat back in juice. Cut chewy French bread into sandwich size pieces, and split lengthwise. Fill with beef, and use a turkey baster to get beef
juice from crock pot and pour on bread (grease has risen to the top).
    Eat and enjoy!!!
    :)

Here is a twist on sourbraten made with a chuck roast and it is delish!

    Sue's Sourbrated

5lb beef chuck roast 2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper 3/4 cup sugar
2 cup apple cider 2 qt. cold water
3-4 med onion cut up 20 ginger snap cookies
1 tsp mixed pickling spices 2 med bay leaves
8 whole allspice 7-8 oz. ketchup about 1/2 a bottle (this will be added last)

Mix all but meat in large glass bowl or ziploc baggie and soak meat in marinade overnight. In morning, brown meat only in a large dutch oven pan, add the liquid back into meat including spices. Cook meat for 2 hours simmering, or until tender. Last 30 minutes of cooking, add ketchup. Remove meat and cool so you can slice thin. Strain juice to make a gravey and thicken it if you want. Pour back over meat and serve with mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
Note: I have made this in the crock pot and it is very good! A nice twist to the traditional 3 day event of saurbraten!!

    Hope you like it!! Mary

Thanks, Mom2boys. I must have missed this in TOH, but now that you've shared the recipe and given it a good review, I'll be sure to try it.
