Another poster mentioned that they made the Cola Glazed Carrots by Paula Deen but no recipe was given. I would love to try these but can't find the recipe on the Food TV website.
    Does anyone have this recipe?

    From Paula's magazine, July/Aug. 2006

Sweet Glazed Carrots - Makes 6 servings

    6 c. sliced carrots (about 10 medium)
1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 T. cornstarch
    1/2 t. salt
    2 T. butter, melted
    1/2 c. cola-flavored carbonated beverage

In a heavy saucepan, cook carrots, in enough water to cover, over medium-high heat, 8-10 min, or until tender, drain and set aside.

Combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt in saucepan. Stir in butter and cola. Bring to a boil over medium heat; boil 1 min. Reduce heat, and add carrots, cooking until heated through.

Sounds like a good side for Thanksgiving!

    12oz bottle root beer
    1/3 cup light brown sugar
    1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp ground cumin
    1/2 tsp ground cloves
    1/2 tsp coarse salt
    2 lbs ready-peeled baby carrots
    2 Tbsp chopped fresh thyme

In a large skillet, bring 1/2 cup water, the root beer, sugar, cinnamon, cumin, cloves and salt to a boil. Add the carrots, return to a boil, cover and cook for 5 minutes. Uncover and boil until tender, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the thyme. Using a slotted spoon, place the carrots in a bowl.

    8 servings.

Brenda, thank you for the glazed carrots. Will try them soon. Brenda (from Au.) we talked for an hour tonight, I start missing her before she got on her plane.
She took some recipes back with her, can't wait to hear what her family thought of them.

    Hugs Sally

I actually think Paula's recipe is the one I used several months ago to make the glazed carrots. Will have to go through my recipe box to see.

Sally, I'm sure you had to miss Bren, and I'm certain that she misses you, too. Will e-mail you today. Hugs back to you, too!
