Minced Ginger to Ground Conversion
If a recipe calls for 1 Tbsp. minced ginger, can that be interchanged with ground ginger? If so, how much would be used?

RE: Minced Ginger to Ground Conversion
fresh ginger tastes much different than ground ginger, but it can be substituted. I don't know what the substitution is though. It might be like fresh herbs to dried herbs 1 Tbsp. fresh=1 tsp. dried, just an educated guess.

gourmetsleuth.com says 1 tbsp. ground fresh ginger equals 1 tsp ground ginger.

Thanks to both of you. I needed it for a recipe last night and I did use the 1 tsp.

Did the 1 tsp. work out?

RE: Minced Ginger to Ground Conversion
I think it did. I tried a new recipe that I had found on here (Asian-Grilled Pork Chops) and since I hadn't made it before, and it tasted good, I'd have to say it turned out. Next time though, I'd probably get the fresh ginger - just didn't feel like stopping last night.
