    How many cups of pnut butter in 18 oz jar?
    I know it is less than 8 oz. in a cup because pb is heavier than water, but can't remember the exact measurement and I want to make Puppy Chow. Thanks!

    I always consider and 18 oz. jar to be about 2 cups when I make by buckeyes.

    Not always.

    Great example: an 8 ounce tub of Cool Whip (weight) actually contains 3 1/3 cups, nearly 2 pints, (volume.)

    THAT pint ain't no pound!

    Our system is really confusing. Ounces can be weight or volume. Liquid volumes are obvious--fill the measuring cup up to the line. Dry goods such as sugar and flour, not usually a problem. But when it comes to semisolids like peanut butter and cool whip---hmmm. It's easy to get confused!

    It also depends on if you have smooth or chunky peanut butter. I just looked at my 18-ounce jar of creamy peanut butter. It says serving 16(2 tablespoons each), which still means it equal 2 cups....

    WEIGHT DOES NOT ALWAYS EQUAL VOLUME......

    i always use the ingredient conversion calculater at gourmetsleuth.com whenver i need to convert a recipe as i did with this one:

    peanut butter, creamy, with salt -
    Your answer is: 18 oz = 1.98 cup (US)
