I had copied a recipe someone had posted several years ago where you added a couple of ingredients to a cake mix and it tasted like a bakery cake. I believe the woman used to work in a bakery. Does anyone have that recipe?
I don't know what a bakery cake tastes like, but i got a recipe off this site long time ago that is really good when I decide not to make a scratch cake.
1 cake mix (and not the ingredients on the box)
1 box instant pudding mix
2 cups milk
mix together and bake, it's wonderful
I have made this recipe & is excellent,I also have added two Tbl spoons of Almond Meal,keeps the cake nice & moist,
I've made the one CookieGrandma posted, and it's really good with chocolate cake mix, chocolate pudding, the eggs, and chocolate milk.

I don't remember sour cream in it but do remember having to add extra flour. The sour cream cake recipe you posted sounds the closest. Thank you.
Better-than-a-Bakery White Cake2 cups sugar --3/4 cup margarine -- 1 cup milk -- 5 egg whites, beaten -- 3 cups flour --3 tsp baking powder -- 1 tsp lemon flavoring -- 3/4 cup chopped nuts (optional) Mix the flour and baking powder together. In a separate bowl, mix the sugar and margarine together and then mix in the flour and baking powder mixture. Add the milk, mix well. Add the beaten egg whites. Mix well. Makes two 8 inch layers or one 13 x 9 inch cake. Bake layers 30 to 35 minutes, sheet cake 35 to 40 minutes, at 350 degrees
OOps, this one doesn't have cake mix in the ingridients.
