I have a great recipe that I use to make years ago for chicken wings. I went and told my sister that I would make them for her next cookout but cannot find it any of the grocery stores. Do they still make this?
Is that what Catalina or Western dressing are? they are very red and somewhat sweet. Long time ago(70s) I had a recipe for this, I remember it took chili sauce and lots of oil.
Thanks, I will look at walmart next time that I go, but if its not there then I will try one of the recipes the others posted. I really didnt want to have to make my own since the recipe I used was a very simple one, it called for one envelope onion soup mix, 1 bottle red russion dressing, and a small jar of apricot preserves/
I use the same recipie, and have substituted French Dressing. It isn't quite as good, but it still works.
Hi to All
Up here in Canada we can only buy Kraft Russian Dressing (only in an 8oz size)
I called Kraft one day to see if I could sub Catalina..they said no..way to sweet!
At the Kraft site it looks as though it is only available in Canada.
Benchsitter, I just went looking through my recipes and cant find the recipe Im sure it was a 3 lb bag of the frozen wingets
1 pkg. of lipton onion soup mix
1 bottle of red russion dressing
1 small jar of apricot preserves ( Im pretty sure I used almost the whole jar)
You just mix all of it together and marinate it overnight and bake it in the oven. Sometimes I use to have to take out some of the juices if it made to much. but i always bake them longer so that they get browned.
Hope that helps.
Benchsitter, Just found it.
8 ounce bottle of dressing
1 pkg onion soup mix
8 oz jar of preserves
5lbs chicken wingets
