  • ISO YOUR BEST RECIPE FOR KY DERBY PIE

I need a recipe for a Kentucky Derby Pie.  I tried the search engine with no luck.  I know that there is a recipe out there for me.  Please give me your best.  Thanks in advance.

Kentucky Chocolate Pie. This delicious treat is served at Churchill Downs and at Kentucky Derby parties everywhere on Derby Day. The name Derby Pie was trademarked by a Kentucky family, so it can't be called that unless it is made by the Kern's Kitchen where it originated.

    1/4 cup butter
    1 cup sugar
    3 eggs, beaten
    1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
    3/4 cup light corn syrup
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1/2 cup chopped pecans
    2 tablespoons bourbon
1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell

Cream butter, add sugar gradually while beating. Add beaten eggs, corn syrup, salt and vanilla. Stir in chocolate chips, nutes and bourbon until well mixed. Pour into pie shell. Bake at 375 for 40 to 50 minutes. Be careful not to overbake.

I've had this pie before, but never made it myself.     This will be a new addition to our Thanksgiving dinner.     Thanks for the recipe.
