I'm making ham and bean soup and can't think of what to serve with it. I's like to make some kind of hot sandwich since my youngest doesn't really care for the soup. What kind of sandwich do you think would go well with it? Any other suggestions? TIA!
My Mom always used to serve brown bread (in a can?) with her beans.
But, if he is not going to eat the soup, it really does not need to go with it....everyone eats the soup with bread or crackers or whatever. Your youngest eats any kind of sandwich....just grateful he doesn't have to eat the soup.
ROFL at Joe!!
Actually that was funny and pretty quick witted LOL.
When I make beans a lot of times I make corn bread and sometimes I even make a mess of diced potatoes with onions cut up and cooked with them. I did that a lot when I was feading 4 hungry men for pennies back in the day. It sounds good to me now in fact.

Too too funny Joe. Depo!!!
Score one for Joe !
Jalapeno cornbread with honey butter. Bean soup is sooooooooo filling I don't think you NEED a sandwich with it.
Thanks all! LOL Joe! I may just made some muffins-Grandmas Honey muffins. Between those and the ham in the soup the youngest won't starve. I just don't remember if he likes the soup or not. He is getting less picky. Thanks again!
We always like to have toasted (grilled cheese sandwiches) with bean soup.
Quick thinking there Joe!!
1. Grilled cheese and tomato sandwich
2. Cornbread muffins with creamed corn and grated cheddar stirred into the batter.
3. Green salad and toasted buttered french bread slices
4. Saltine crackers and cheese sticks
