    Isn't this pretty and easy too! We love Angel Food cake here~ if you didn't want to fuss with the flavorings, maybe you could just tint the batter but I would definitely use some of that marachino cherry juice in the frosting...sounds good to me! Linda

    Tinted Angel Cake
    Bake: according to package
    1 16-oz. pkg. angel food cake mix
    1/2 of a 0.16- to 0.23-oz. envelope Kool-Aid® tropical punch, pink lemonade, black cherry or your favorite flavor unsweetened soft drink mix (about 3/4 teaspoon)
    4 cups powdered sugar
    3 Tbsp. hot water
    1 Tbsp. grenadine syrup, maraschino cherry liquid, or 1/4 teaspoon Kool-Aid® unsweetened soft drink mix
    White baking chocolate curls
     
    Directions
    1. In a large mixing bowl, combine angel food cake mix and 3/4 teaspoon Kool-Aid® mix. Prepare cake mix according to package directions.
    2. In a medium bowl, combine powdered sugar, hot water and grenadine syrup. If necessary, add additional water, 1 teaspoon at a time, to make icing of drizzling consistency. Drizzle icing over cake. Top with white chocolate curls. Makes 12 servings.

    Wow- this DOEs sound good. I like that you could make it in any one of several flavors-lemon, strawberry,  cherry, etc. And it's so pretty!! Thanks for posting. I'm going to have to try this before Easter!

    It sure is pretty!  We love angel food cake here too.......and I love adding a package of sugar free gelatin to the angel food cake mix...works like a charm......adds wonderful flavor, color and variety.........glad to know the Kool Aid works too!

    I would have never thought of using Kool-Aid (or sugar free jello) to the cake mix.  Great idea and how good it looks!    Thanks for sharing.
