Can someone please help me with the difference between these two cheeses? I always thought they were the same, just different names but I have a disagreement with someone and want to settle it!

Dear Math: I am not your therapist...solve your own problems!
I believe Neufchatel cheese is light or 1/3 less fat cream cheese....I know the Philadelphia Brand Light is called Neufchatel cheese.
If you google it, I'm sure there's a more technical explanation. I also think there's a French cheese that is called Neufchatel too but I'm not sure.
Carol - you always come to my rescue! Thanks!
You're welcome Ellen....by the way-how did that Grapenut Pudding end up for you-I know you said it finally thickened...did you like it?
Carol, the Grapenut pudding did finally thicken. It was good, DH liked it too. Thanks again for all you're help with it. The woman who requested it in my column said it was exactly what she wanted. I always love to hear that!
In case you're still interested, check out this link: oops, it won't let me copy/paste the link.
Go to www.differencebetween.net and put the 2 cheese names in the search box & click search. Interesting.
