Can someone please help me with the difference between these two cheeses? I always thought they were the same, just different names but I have a disagreement with someone and want to settle it!

I believe Neufchatel cheese is light or 1/3 less fat cream cheese....I know the Philadelphia Brand Light is called Neufchatel cheese.
If you google it, I'm sure there's a more technical explanation. I also think there's a French cheese that is called Neufchatel too but I'm not sure.

Carol, the Grapenut pudding did finally thicken. It was good, DH liked it too. Thanks again for all you're help with it. The woman who requested it in my column said it was exactly what she wanted. I always love to hear that!
