Going to be warm today- but think we'll still be dry ( fingers crossed! ) Steve has a golf tourney, and I'm off to graduation...
Our rotisserie chicken was great last night- I may chop up the leftovers for salad..
I will do a proper catch up a bit later...but the pup is looking towards the door...
Waving and sending hugs all around!
Have a great day, friends!
Margaret
Good morning folks! It's the beginning of a new week, but instead of heading off to school, I will spend it getting ready for our vacation which will begin on Saturday. I still have lots of preparations to do.
We will leave very early Saturday morning for our flight to Miami, then sail early the next morning for Key West, Grand Cayman and Jamaica. I'm excited and it seems like a really special way to begin the summer! There are 9 family members on this trip.
We really need the rain here but it doesn't look like it will be coming any time soon.
Hope Janie is feeling better each day!
I'll check in later and see what everyone is up to.
Gm Everyone ! Thanks so much for all of the recovery wishes. I need a few more days to say it's finally kickig in. I moved next door yesterday to the Hospitals rehaib center. It's quite large and is under costruction. Beds are limited and I was glad to get one. Pain level has not changed much,
It will sette down soon. Am looking forward to a nice shower shortly. Then therapy starts. i will have it twice daily. 4-7 days depending on your progress. I hope its 4 for me. Knee looks like a baseball ! lol Quite swollen. Guess it will go down as the days move on.
Connie have a fabulous time. Just enjoy every moment!. I'll try to keep up with things today and i have some personal mail to get too.
Take care frieds and thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers.
Janie
Happy Monday!
Margaret - Yes, I definately think the once a week thread is the best! I didn't get a chance to check in last week. Too much going on....you wouldn't believe it.
Connie - Enjoy your well-deserved vacation! It sounds like it will be so much fun!
Janie - I've been thinking about you! I hope it will get easier for you each day! If you'd like, I can send Little Mike out there to do some therapy with you! He is a pro! You got this, Janie! YOU CAN DO IT! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Waving hello to everyone! I hope everyone has a good day!
Take care, Pam
Good Morning,
Janie I am so happy to see you are sitting up and taking nourishment. It's wonderful to see you back here.
How much longer Margaret do you think it will be before your camp is ready for you?
Things are heating up here in more ways than one. It seems like we are going in forty directions at once some days. I will be gone from Wednesday til Sunday and have some shopping that needs to be done before leaving. We need hay again it's that time of year and our guy doesn't have much so we will be looking and Roger has a tendency to get in a panic about it.
One of Jenny's friends has a new baby about 3 to 4 weeks old and the little guy has a hole in his heart so please keep him in your thoughts his name is Isaac he has to have surgery but can't have it until he gains weight maybe at a year. The girls took riding lessons together and showed together and each now has three boys and since Tina started her family later she may still be wanting to add a girl like Jenny but first they need to get this little guy healthy.
We had a nice little storm during the night but not too much rain and temps have been in the middle 90's the last few days but breezy. Hope your day is great see you all later.
Carol
Hi everybody ~
Isn't it a treat, Connie, to have such a wonderful, relaxing weekend and not have to worry about getting up & going to work on Monday? Biking... what a great way to exercise & a really good way to get a head start on the day. Good for you! What a way to start your summer vacation!!!! And aren't you going to have fun with all your family. I hope the weather cooperates.
Margaret, now what do you need the plumber for???? AGAIN!!! Geez, I thought all that got straighten around last summer! Your dinner sounds good to me. We're going to have a taco salad. I'm sorry I didn't think about a rotisserie, but I'll do some ground beef & add some taco seasoning. I still have strawberries, so we'll have those for dessert.
Hi Janie. I think you were flyin' pretty high yesterday. I hope everything is going well. I'll bet you were one tired puppy yesterday. I'm hoping these next days fly right by for you & your therapy gets things going fast.
Pam, LM would probably be an excellent coach for Janie. I can just hear him now. I can only imagine how busy all of you are. We're sure glad you popped in, though.
Isn't that sad, Carol, when these little ones are born with defects. Thank God for modern medicine. Years ago, they wouldn't have known what to do & that sweet baby would not be around. Don't get too busy this week. Make sure you take some time for yourself & just not the horses!
It's really warm here today, but with the windows in the house closed all day, it's not too bad in here. I'm sure if this was to last for a few days, it would get uncomfortable, but knowing tomorrow & the rest of the week is suppose to be cooler, we can stand it. There's a breeze out there & I think they are calling for T-Storms tonight. Made a lovely marinade recipe last night for some chicken tenders. Joe & I had dinner on the porch. Something different anyway. It was nice. I'll post the recipe in the next post. Seems this marinade would work on just about anything. Have a relaxing evening & in Janie's case, not too painful.
Barb
This is a Bobby Dean recipe and it can't get much easier than this...
2 T. soy sauce
2 T. Teriaki sauce
2 T. worchestershire sauce
juice of a whole lemon
2 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
2 T. lemon juice.
Put all ingredients in a plastic bag & add chicken tenders. (I'll be using boneless 1" pieces next time.) Marinate 1 hr. in fridge, then thread on scewers. Grill
This is really, really good!
Barb,
That marinate looks good and probably tastes even better but I have one question is it two tablespoons of lemon juice plus the juice of a whole lemon? Did you get all your yard work done?
The Wisconsin Rapids Tribune had a very nice write up on Michelle today I'll put a link on here in case anyone would like to read it. The pictures in the paper were nicer than what is on the web site I'm not sure what's up with that.
We just had quite a nice shower and could use a few more just like it.
Hi-
Well, a picture perfect day for the graduation! We also had a great lunch afterwards...great fun!
Connie- I know your trip will be wonderful- and you deserve to be pampered. as they can do on a cruise.
Janie- I know you'll make good progress when you're feeling a bit better- but take your time and heal completely, GF!
Pam- so glad you're keeping busy- and I know the kids are glad to be on vacation!
Carol- sorry to hear about the little child- there are amazing treatments nowadays, fortunately- so I'll keep a good thought! We should be able to use the camp with about another 2 hours of prep work...
Barb- it's the ^%&* sink sprayer that needs replacing- and anorther piece under the bathroom sink...I firmly believe the plumber whp installed ALL THE NEW FIXTURES should fix them- for free...we'll see... I've got the fans on...keeping cool enough- tomorrow supposed to get rain..
I'll check back in tomorrow - going to park myself in front of the TV and relax..PT tomorrow and we'll asses where I go from here...also will pick up my new specs!
Have a great evening, friends!
M.

How could I have forgotten to put the link on. That first picture was from a dance number in the Miss Rapids pageant and not something Michelle would have ever chosen it makes her muscular legs look huge the paper had two other shots with different dresses. Thanks Margaret for taking care of that for me.
I am making Rogers favorite tomato soup so he has plenty to eat while I am gone. I started this over 2 hours ago and got side tracked soup is in the frig now. Talked to my brother who turned 80 on Sunday he is doing well but tells me he had a couple of tiny strokes at Easter. Makes me think I need to find time to go to California to see him.
Good morning...may I?
Fester is feisty, so I'll wish you a good morning and be back in a bit!
Good morning to all. Hope Margaret and Fester enjoy their walk.
I'm happy to say that I'm getting my hair cut and colored today. Those pesky little gray hairs are peeking in and I must banish them!! Also heading to the dentist later. By this evening my entire head should be in fine form.
Hope every one has a great day!
Well, the walk was "productive" and just fine...
Found the freezer door ajar this morning...some stuff starting to thaw... we'll have meatballs and hot dogs in the next day or two...I should just toss it all out and start new- but if it's not really thawed, I won't...
Connie- enjoy your spiffing up day...I'll be happy just get up and out for a bit...my get up and go got up and went...
Back later!
