    Good morning friends.

It's going to be a real hot one again today, possible triple digits this time.

How nice not having to rush out the door for school today.

Last night we ordered pizza and tonight might be Chinese.

All the best to you my friends.

Good morning friends. I've had trouble with the board again. Confused I'll have to go back and read the posts again later. I've had a terrible headache the last two days. Last night I couldn't find a spot to lie down OR to sit comfortably- spent more than two hours just walking the hallway. It's a bit better tonight, but I think I might need a chiro appt.

DS #1 has wisdom teeth out today (Thur)- an extra prayer would be appreciated. I'll let you know how things go. Meals for him will be soft foods for a couple of days. We are headed to 97 later- so our dinner will be something simple. We had sesame beef tortillas Wed night.

Time to call it a night. Have a great day all!

    Blessings, Ellie

Good morning Nancy, Ellie and all to follow today.

I am having the hardest time getting on and then if I want to reply it's another 2-3 min. wait if it even lets me reply.  They are making it mighty hard to use this site and if this keeps up I am not sure how long I can be bothered. The only thing that keeps me here is my What's Cookin' friends. I never once had this problem before they supposedly improved the board, it used to work great.

Ellie, I just said a prayer for your DS #1's oral surgery tomorrow.  I sincerely hope you can get to the Chiropractor for some relief.  Nothing worse than feeling horrible in hot weather.

I will be having teriyaki pork tenderloin, roasted carrots and baby potatoes.

It's been warm in the afternoons here but nothing like Nancy and Ellie are having so far...thank goodness.

I talked to my DGD today and a bunch of the graduates went to Palm Springs for a few days to relax in the sun after all the final's they had last week before real life starts. She sent me a pic of the balcony over looking the pool and all I can say is Oh La La!

    Mornin' all.

Jan, it sounds as if you are having the same troubles I was having a few weeks ago.  It is very frustrating and, like you, it was only the fact that I really like the people on a couple of threads that I use all the time, that kept me trying to get on Angry  It did pass, thank goodness and I hope it will for you too, and soon.

Nancy, have fun this summer with the girls off school.  Do you have many plans or is it going to be a "take it as it comes" summer?  When does youngest DD start school/kindergarten?

Ellie, hope you can get some relief quickly.  Good luck to DS1with his wisdom teeth.

Jan, you have every right to be a proud grandma.  What are DGD's plans now that she has graduated? College or work?

Helen, hope hubby is feeling better soon.  Sounds like he's had a rough time recently.

Lori, relax and enjoy your time off,  away from little ones and annoying school boardsWink

Marlene, maybe youu can get some time for you this week while hubby is away.  Relax and put your feet up, (if you know howSurprise)  You are always so busy looking after somebody else.

Tammy, enjoy your visit with DS and his wife and hope your meal goes well tonight.  It makes a lot of sense not to risk cooking outside while there are fires in the area.  Is that fire close to you still going or has it burned itself out by now?

It is very hot and humid here at the moment so I cancelled my golf game this morning.  Hubby has gone anyway as he has a match to play.  Instead I am pottering around the house, doing laundry and making bread.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and can stay cool,

    Tasty

Hoping for all to go well for your DS, Ellie -- been through that with both of my guys. First day is the worst, but swelling can sometimes peak after a couple days. Bags of frozen corn or peas make great ice packs! I also hope that you get some relief -- I'm so sorry you've been so miserable -- make sure you take care of yourself too.

Jan, I hate that you are having so much trouble with the site. I'm sure you've sent messages/emails to let them know -- any response?

Your meal sounds delicious. I fixed pork chops the other night and they sure were good -- haven't done a tenderloin in a while but I love it with a teriyaki marinade.

Nancy, wow, triple digits! We've been in the 90s but you've got us beat. Funny thing is, I heard from some friends who moved recently to south Florida and they had temps in the 80s!

Off to the gym this morning -- since our bathrooms are "in process", we've been showering at the gym, but today I will actually have time to exercise too! Wink Then I'm going to try to run a few errands either before I go to work, or on my lunch hour. Tonight DH will be teaching but I'm going down to our neighbors' for a little get-together -- just dessert and visiting -- looking forward to that.

    Good Morning,

Ds and wife made it in, a little later than planned because of a new fire near Canon City had the road closed. they had to take a detour. Actually it worked well for me because the brisket needed all that time to get tender. After dinner we got in the hot tub and enjoyed that. they especially liked it because they had gone tubing the day before and had sore muscles because of the rough ride. After the hot tub, we enjoyed dessert. I made the Mounds of Joy pie that was on the board as an ad, a few months ago. So, so delicious!

Nancy, it osund like you all are dong what you can to stay cool during this run of super hot temps. Good for you, no cooking!

Ellie, I said a prayer for DS, and also for your headache to go away. That is sure no fun. I'm so sorry you don't feel 100%.

Jan, I have had alot of trouble with a slow board too. For me it seems to happen mostly during mid day. Early mornings and late nights are somewhat better. Please don't leave us!  I think we should all give one other person on What's Cookin some contact info, just in case. Elza has mine through facebook. I really hate it when people just go MIA. I hope DGD is having a grand time.

Helen, I hope your DH gets to feeling better. Saying a prayer.

    Have fun tonight Elza.

The large fire near us, has finally been 50% contained. It grew to 1200 acres, and had 350 firefighters working on it. After that first day, we did see or smell the smoke anymore-guess the wind was blowing it away from us. There was a slight haze in the air that direction.

This morning I am making apple cinnamon rolls-a new recipe made with crescent dough. Then we are all going to ride the cog train up to Pikes Peak. Later on I am coming back here to start on the fried chicken and the kids are going to Garden of the Gods.

I need to run and get myself ready, then get the rolls in the oven. have a wonderful day friends. Stay cool! (As for me, I am taking a heavy coat up to the top of the mountain!)

    Hello all.

Nancy, with possible triple digits today, I think Chinese sounds like a good plan for dinner.

Ellie, prayers said for both your DS#1 and you.

Helen, I've also said a prayer for your DH.

Tammy, enjoy your time with your DS and DDIL up at Pike's Peek.  My GF from college first lived in Co. after getting out of school and she had sent me different brochures of different places in Co.  I remember the Garden of the Gods and thinking how pretty those red rocks looked.  Good luck on the appreciation dinner tonight.

Jan, when I read that your DGD went to Palm Springs, the first thing that I thought of was all the beach party bingo movies I watched as a kid with Frankie and Annette.  Oh how I loved those!  Hope you DGD has a nice time with her friends.

Elza, how did the snack supper at your church's summer soccer camp go last night?

Marlene, I hope you are enjoying every minute of your "stay-cation" while your DH is off trapshooting.  You sure are a good person to everyone , so please take some time for yourself if you can this weekend.

Weather guessers are saying that this tropical low in the gulf may actually become Hurricane Debbie and head back across Florida.  The forecasts have changed many times in the past day, and will probably be fine-tuned as time goes on.  This morning I heard  9"-10" of rain expected here by early next week, but we'll see--they tend to play it up some times.  Due to the cloudy conditions and the off and on rain, our temperatures are down--I think around 89* for our high today.

DH is getting up from his nap, so I need to get our meal ready.  We'll be finishing up the stuffed peppers today.

Our get-together with the neighbors got postponed to tomorrow, but I'm supposed to help with snack supper at church then so don't know if I'll be able to make it. Lori, it went well last night. The ladies who are on the kitchen committee have worked out a pretty good schedule for the week, since we've done this for a number of years. Last night it was bagel pizza bites, veggies with dip, chips, orange slices and mini cinnamon rolls. We also made ham & turkey wraps that will be served tonight. On Friday night, we'll have a nacho bar, with seasoned ground beef, chicken, cheese sauce, lettuce, tomato, salsa, etc.

Tonight I have an unexpected evening to myself -- I should be packing and maybe I'll get to that after a while, but right now I'm just enjoying the quiet! And, of course, doing laundry.

Hi there.  It has taken me the better part of 8 minutes to post....I am not amused Sad with TOH.    Sorry to be so down sounding but this is ridiculous.  I forgot what I wanted to say in answer to everyones previous posts.
Elza I can see yours above and boy I'll tell ya the Firday night menu of the nacho bar sounds delish!  Enjoy your unexpected quiet evening to yourself dear lady.

Lori, LOL about the Annette and Frankie movies.  Sure wish I was young like DGD and able to run to Palm Springs for a few days of fun with friends....but then I am older....and wiser in so many things....Nah, I would rather be 18 again and dumb as dirt! LOL.

I changed  my dinner menu from the pork tenderloin tonight.  Instead I will have Chinese chicken stir fry and tomorrow will be the tenderloin.  Could not get the teriyaki one so got the regular one with the Lawry's teriyaki marinade, works for me.

I will talk tomorrow if this site lets me, if not you know where I am (trying to get on)...sigh! Someone asked if I had gotten in touch with TOH about the problem.  No I have not even tried to get in touch with TOH as in the past I found it too difficult  This happened a few weeks ago and then it was fine again after a couple of days and now it's worse than ever. Even after I type it takes awhile to show up in the box you post in?

Good night dear friends, have a lovely weekend if I don't get on.

Big Smile They should have a shruging your shoulders smiley, lol.
