Good Morning My BB Friends

Good morning, I slept a good 9 hours,guess I was tired. We're supposed to hit a new high today so I'll get my running done and hunker down.It seems to me that a LOT of folks have lost interest in our thread. Some have quit posting all together and others just post every once in a while. Should I keep this going? I don't want it to go aside but if there is no interest...................... Depo!!!

Good morning~ No Depo you are doing a fine job here posting this thread. We get so much busier in the summer and hard to find the time to sit and do this. As for me sometimes I always read it but don't have the time to post or just to tired........when the post are small I am tired! Please don't stop and I think everyone will agree to this.

Just getting some wash done and cleaning up in DH bedroom and will call it quits pretty soon as I need to run to town and do some banking and get few groceries and look in at shoe store. Is crazy days but I have enough of those without going to them!! Will come home and work on the yard. Don't know what DH had the guy mow on for setting on mower but looks terrible out there and will see what I can do to make it look nicer?? Sometimes its better to do yourself or just not care!! But I do!

Good morning everyone ~ It is a sunny start to the day here. We are heading to the lower 90s today. We have had thunderstorms and rain the past 3 days. My guys have been on vacation this week so we have been taking a few short trips. Nice to spend time together.

Depo ~ Happy to hear you slept well last night. I cannot say the same. It was a few minutes here and there. I think Marlene is right...we get busy during the summer with different things and just don't get in here. I do appreciate you keeping us going. I would definitely miss coming here and chatting with everyone.

Marlene ~ I see it is errand running and chores for your day. Ugh! Sorry the guy didn't do such a good job on the mowing. Was glad to hear that MIL was doing better.

Well, I need to cook breakfast and get started with the day. I have a chiro appt. and a birthday party to attend later today.

Good morning everyone

DH is off to work.  He doesn't know what time he is getting home.  He best get home as he as a lawn to mow and we have to go to DBIL and DSIL tonight for supper.  I am bringing a pie.  Hope it turns out.  Why is it lately every time I make something to take it never turns out right and some of the recipes are ones I have made for years.  Maybe my heart is just not into doing it.

Hi Depo - yes keep us going.  I usually read if I am home.  My life is not very exciting and I don't usually address everyone.

We did not go back and have a second look at the puppy....DH said he was just too worried about it being so tiny.  I had one many, many years ago and it fell off the sidewalk and broke its leg....kind of gives you an idea how fragile.  Anyway, after he talked and talked.....I guess I agree. 

We are going for surprise birthday party for DS this afternoon and night.....

Good Morning Depo, BJ & Everyone,

We had a nice day yesterday but were suppose to be getting into the 90's again starting today. That is a good idea Depo to get your running done early. I am going to make tomato juice today, I am really disapointed in my tomatoes, they are cracking on the tops of them and they are ripening so uneven, and I was out there picking this morning and do not see alot more coming, this really is my garden I have ever had, good thing I have some left from last year, I always do can as much as I can just in case......

Hi Marlene, lucky you to be mowing a lawn, ours is kapoot..... the last time DH mowed was just before Memorial weekend. Nice to have the time to yourself to get things done. Take some "me" time too while DH is gone.

Hi Rosa, We watched a live tractor pull on the internet from Chapel Hill last night, is that anywhere by you? We used to pull with alot of those guys that were on there, we sure do miss it, we have never been to Chapel Hill but we used to go to Strawberry Plains and pull every year, is that by you? That was one of our favorite pulls, the people from there used to put on a homemade feast for all the pullers and families, such nice people!!!

Hi Vera, I was wondering that same thing about my cooking, I have made several things lately and it seems it is always something I don't like about them. What kind of pie are you making? Have a good time tonight.

Well besides the canning I am going to vacume and scrub the floor. Then maybe DH and I will soak in the pond with a cool one...... it has just been too darn hot this summer to do that but I am hoping today will be a good day for that. Then tonight we will watch more pulling from Chapel Hill.

Oh and Depo, I sure hope you keep this going, I have gotten very attached to everyone here, I sure would miss it, you all are such a great support for me in many ways. I really appreciate you doing this for us everyday and I have not lost hope that BJ will be back with us soon cause I really miss her too!!!! And the rest too.

Hi Diane, we always seem to be typing at the same time, lol. I know the feeling about seeing these puppies and wanting them, I keep telling myself "no more dogs" it is hard cause I just love them. Mine are 9 and 12 years now so I keep thinking I want to try the no dog life for once in my life, we will see how that goes, lol. Miz Mia will thank you, I know my fur baby is not happy about DGS being around and I would hate to see if I brought in a new puppy, afterall she thinks she is the puppy, lol.

Speaking of Asti, I had to take her in yesterday to get her teeth cleaned and have 4 warts removed, that was quite expensive, but her teeth get so nasty now as she can only tolerate canned food.

I love the Harem comment, lol....... Have a good day GF.

Good morning, I slept really good last night too, it was probably the 10+ hours I put in at work yesterday. I hope they all will not be like that.

DH is gone working for a neighbor, he is building a new industrial subdivision in the country and DH is running his scraper as he cannot find anybody who knows how to do it. I am going to the gym then going to do some running in town. I think I will make stir fry for dinner tonite as I have all the veggies that I was planning for grilled vegetables at the gc which did not get made.

Dennis, I agree that we are all kinda busy right now but if you like keeping us in line just keep doing it as we all appreciate it.

Good Morning Depo & Everybody!

It's been a wild one here with thunder, lightning and rain since the wee hours of the morning!  I can honestly say that I've never heard thunder that loud in my life - it was actually scary!  According to the radar, we have more rain moving in, so I guess that it's the perfect day to get the house whipped into shape.  I got DH off to work and though they won't be able to work today, he had to go in and check for leaks. 

I went to the casino yesterday morning and I will avoid going there at all costs during the morning hours, that's for sure.  I did well, but I had to work HARD for every single penny I got too!  It seems that they let the morning & afternoon visitors load up the machines for the night crowd as it seems that the machines all break loose right about 7:00.  Here's what I came home with, though it cost me a hundred bucks to get it.  *sigh*

Depo - I'm with the rest of 'em, I'd miss everyone if this post went by the wayside.   You're doing a bang-up job of keeping this going everyday and I truly appreciate it.  Thank you!  I'm glad that you got a good night's sleep last night.   Now hopefully you can get your running done before you melt into the pavement today!  LOL

Marlene - I see that you're busy scurrying out-and-about today too, I have a bit of that to do myself.  UGH!  I remember doing the "Crazy Days" thing with my Mom as a kid - I remember looking soooo forward to those days as she would give each of us kids some money to spend...........as long as we behaved ourselves while we were there.  LOL   Oh how I can sympathize with you on a less than stellar lawn mowing job.  That would drive me crazy!  Aside from praying for it to grow soon, sometimes there's not much else a person can do.  *sigh*

Rosa - It sounds like you've had a fun week getting to go places and all.  How nice!  We've been getting these "pop up" showers for the last few days..........unfortunately, they seem to "pop up" right over my house!  LOL  We desperately need the rain, but it would be much better if it could rain one whole day and be done with it!  LOL  I could use a tune up, wanna drag me along to your appointment today?  LOL

Vera - My Mom often complained every once in awhile that things wouldn't turn out for her either.  I don't think that she ever figured that one out, but she sure was frustrated!  Your pie sounds delicious, I'm sure that they'll enjoy it!  I hope that you have a great time!

Diane - Good grief, what kind of a puppy is it that it could fall off a sidewalk and break it's leg?????  Wow, the poor thing wouldn't survive the truck ride home here.  LOL  Is the pantry done?  If not, it's got to be darn close, isn't it?  Have fun at the party tonight, remember to yell "SURPRISE" right on cue!  LOL

Deb - Any idea on why your tomato tops are cracking?  My cherry tomatoes are finally ripening up - I think that I've pulled a dozen or so off of the plant now.  The big kind of tomatoes are still green as can be, but there's a TON of them hanging there.  If your DH would like, he can come and mow OUR yard...........and my Dad's yard at his house............AND the yard at his shop!  I'm sure that none of us here would be complaining!  LOL  Maybe it's the high temps or humidity that's affecting the baking?  I know that my Mom had a very temperamental fudge recipe.  LOL  Hopefully you'll get to take that soak in the pond before it's time to head for your pillows!  I really don't have a whole lot of faith in BJ returning, something just tells me that she's done - both with starting the posts as well as posting on them as she's been on the bb and never stopped in.  JMO

Karen - It sounds like you're going to have the house all to yourself today, lucky you!  Errand running for you too, I see.  I hope that you enjoyed your time away - were you celebrating a hole-in-one at some point, or did you just celebrate?  LOL

Well, I guess that I need to hop in the shower and get dressed.  I have a girl stopping by to pick up HER sewing order sometime today.  I'm thinking that I'm going to make her pin herself down to some sort of time frame as I'm certainly not going to sit here all day waiting for her.  I've got places to go, people to see and stuff to get done around here.

Yes I'm still here.  Like Vera, my life isn't very interesting so I don't have much to comment on but I do read and enjoy everyone's comments.  

I think the summer heat and humidity we've been having has zapped what strength I had out of me.   We've broken so many heat records these past few months that all I do is stay inside in the air. 

Diane I've melted, hardened up and remelted these past few months.  I'm hoping I heard our weatherman wrong last night when he mentioned we would probably have this excessive heat and humidity for another  6 weeks.  ARGGGGGGG........

Well I do have to make a dish to pass for a car show tomorrow but since we are going to be looking at triple digits and this is outside in the country I think dh is going to take the dish and go by himself.  He doesn't seem to mind the heat as bad as me.   Also the allergies are kicking in good, now you'd think with everything so dry and dead I'd be good--well.... it's those dang weeds that won't die.  

Vera sometimes I think the heat and humidity have a lot to do with our baking/cooking, even with the ac on. 

Off to do the pasta salad before it really warms up out there.

Got my running done,put up 9 jars of grape jelly,got the garlic cloves peled  and the pickle spears are ready to be jarred then cooked. DSIL called and invited me to lunch after I got started canning,had to turn the invite down. SHUCKS. Hope your day is going well. Depo!!!

Just running through before leaving for the party. I am looking forward to it because it is a 1st birthday party and she sure is a doll baby! I have the supper entree put together and will bake it later when the guys are back and ready for supper.

Vera ~ The pie sounds good. I think we all have that problem some time or another. My DGM always told me that the weather and humidity will play a part in the results of some things. I have found that to be true. Also, with the changes that are being made in some ingredients I think that may play a part in it.

Diane ~ Happy Birthday to DS. Sorry things did not work out in the puppy dept. I was afraid Mia wouldn't be too happy about it as our friends' yorkies are extremely jealous and territorial. Have a blast at the party.

Deb ~ Chapel Hill is a little over 250 miles from us and Strawberry Plains is around 35 miles from us. DS and I enjoy watching tractor pulls on TV. Sorry about the tomato woes. This year's weather has been really tough on the crops. I was happy to hear DMIL was doing some better. She is most fortunate to have you in her life. I too wish BJ would drop in and let us know how things are going for her. I miss her chatting with us.

Karen ~ Oooo stir-fry I will trade you some chicken poppyseed casserole for some stir-fry. LOL  Enjoy your day.

Paulette ~ You lucky dog you. Our thunderstorms have been pretty intense. It is looking like there is another one building. We need the rain but could definitely skip the thunder and lightning.

Nan ~ You poor thing...my allergies have been acting up the past few days. I know the weather changes affects mine. I hope you find some relief soon. I'll have a dish of the pasta salad please. Love that stuff!

Depo ~ What kind of pickles are you making? I should make some jelly also. We'll see.

Rosa and Diane, have fun at your party. I'm making garlic Kosher dill pickles. I got 3 jars of hlaves and 9 jars of spears done and cooling and I had 1 1/2 cukes left..My feet are screaming at me so I'd better shut 'er down for the day. A bird just laid an egg in her nest and it came out hard boiled, told you today was going to be hot. LOL Depo!!!

Good job Depo, I got 12 quarts of tomato juice done, I am thrilled, not sure I will get 50 quarts this year like I usually do but I am happy to get a good start on it. My feet are screaming too, I have a foot dr. appointment on Tuesday and I need it!!! Funny on the hard boiled, lol.

I hope your wrong Paulette, I just hope BJ is healthy and happy wherever she is. Nice job at the casino!!!! Well I hope the lady showed, didn't she say that yesterday?

Wow Rosa, neat your only 35 miles from Strawberry Plains, we have several puller friends from that area. You never know we could be down in that area someday, DH has been looking around the Tellico area for a few years now, he says he would like to sell in FL and retire there, he likes that area alot, he wants seasons and a barn.....I like FL but I like being with him more, lol. Time will tell I guess. Have fun today.

Hi Nan, I see your about fed up with this summer too, I talked to my neighbors in FL  today and they said it has been cooler their than we are up here and lots of rain too. Now go figure!?!? I would pass on the car show too. Stay cool GF.

Ok, time to either shower or jump in the pond, I have to go find DH he has been out in his barn all day, nice for me no one under foot.
