This is the only yeast recipe I've ever tried, but have made it at least 3 times over the years as dh loves these and they freeze well. Bet kids would love them too!
Those look great! I think I've read reviews that said they freeze well.
I'll be the first to admit that I take help from the bread machine whenever I can when rising doughs, but I'm trying to branch out more!
Ham and Cheddar Stuffed Pretzel Calzones
I make TONS of pizza- and almost all of them start with a variation of the TOH Soft Garlic Breadstick recipe-

Cherry Tomato and Prosciutto Foccacia

Bread Machine GIANT cinnamon rolls (no pic, from the precamera days)
KansasDebb's dinner rolls are always a huge hit here- Dinner Rolls Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method-------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 C. water 2 TBS butter or margarine 1 egg 3 1/4 C. bread flour 1/4 C. sugar 3 tsp. yeast 1 tsp. saltPut ingredients in bread machine as called for. Use dough cycleWhen finished Spray a 9x13 pan with pam and make either 12 or 15 rolls (I have done both). Cover and let rise, Bake aat 375 (I usually just do 350) for 12 to 15 minutes or till golden. When done you can brush tops with butter if desired. (these are wonderful just out of the oven, Jennifer loves to warm them up later for breakfast. I even use them to make a small sandwich with deli ham or turkey. They keep really well and stay soft.

Lol
Oh COME ON Janie...........that's the whole fun of a challenge-step outside your comfort zone and try something new.
Pizza dough is a GREAT place to start.....working with yeast isn't hard-get that liquid temperature right so the yeast will grow and it's all good.............
Carol, you are an inspiration when it comes to cooking with yeast :) I know you've dragged me kicking and screaming into it more than once and I sure appreciate it! I've got my eye on those Cinnamon Twists, maybe for breakfast on Sunday...
Aw Janie, come play :) I've had more yeast failures than I've had successes and I don't give up!
carol1229..that's the whole fun of a challenge-step outside your comfort zone and try something new.
Amen! This is a start where you are challenge.
See....we need to find a recipe for Carol to try to really stretch her dough, LOL.

No thank you-not a fan of croissants..........too rich for my blood.....
Besides, I don't want my scale to explode when I step on it-it's already protesting vehemently ....
I'll be cheering all you new to working with yeast bakers on from the sidelines....let me find my pompoms and try not to break a hip...............
carol1229.too rich for my blood.....
You make them..I'll eat them.
With egg, cheese and pancetta, LOL
Oh, my gosh, do all these recipes sound (and look) good or what!!! I do not do a lot of yeast but I do love my bread machine (like Jolene). These are my famous hamburger buns that I have made forever. They are wonderful. Hope you enjoy them.
Joan's Hamburger Buns¾ cup milk3 Tbs water1 egg2 Tbs butter3 Tbs sugar1 1/2 tsp salt3 1/4 cups bread flour3 tsp instant yeast or3 3/4 tsp active dry yeast2 tsp basil, oregano, or Italian herbs (opt.) (I always use them)Topping: 1 Tbs water + 1 eggSesame seeds, if desired1. Place ingredients (except topping) in pan in the order given or follow directions for your machine. Select DOUGH or MANUAL cycle.2. When cycle is complete, place dough on lightly floured surface. Punch dough down. If dough is sticky, flour hands.3. Divide dough into 8 pieces and shape each piece into a smooth round ball. (Can pinch ends together and tuck under the ball of dough). Place 2-inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Using your hands, flatten buns to about 1-inch thickness.4. Cover loosely with wax paper and let rise until double in size, about 40-45 minutes.5. Combine egg and water. Brush lightly over buns. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, if desired.6. Preheat oven to 400º. Bake buns 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Cool on wire rack.7. If made the day before, I just put in plastic zip lock bag until time to serve and you can either use them as is or warm slightly in microwave.
Makes 8 buns.
These are delicious.

Hate to be a spoil sport so I'll give it a try.
Now which one of these awesome pictures would be best for a Starter.
I don't have a bread machine and I don't even think I have a bread hook?? And I have never worked with bread flour.
I may have tried yeast one or twice. But I know I've aged 20 years since I last made it !!
Susan should be back this weekend. I know she will join in. Yeast doesn't scare her. I think she is also a Pizza expert. And rolls too !
Appy_Girl Yeast doesn't scare her.
That's it then, we'll have to come up with something scary for her next week, LOL.
