Ok, I just tried this cake. It definitely has the flavor of a homemade cake which is good but was not real moist.

Made this cake today. Has a good taste BUT ITS DRY. The crumb is crumbly. Won't make again. I guess I am still on th hunt for a fabulous white cake..which I haven't found yet.

I just made this cake today for my sons birthday...after getting it in the oven I read the reviews and was prepared to be dissapointed but was not. The cake was not the least dry and the flavor was great. I did make a few changes from the original recipe... I used 5 jumbo egg whites instead of 6 large, 2% milk instead of whole and I did not let the milk set to room temp. Also, I mixed the egg mixture for about 30 seconds with an electric mixer opposed to using a fork and I did not turn the cake during baking. A definite keeper! Thanks so much for posting!

Barbara, that recipe is close to my White Feather Cake I posted a while back. Only the one i make uses whipping cream instead of milk. I got it out of a catering book I have and it's the best one i ever ate. It's so tender and moist you really need to let it cool out of the pan before handling it. I use it wehn I make my Coco Loco Coconut cake. I was looking, and had been for a long time, for a really good chocolate cake until I tried Nindsy's favorite chocolate cake and now I have a favorite recipe for every cake i make.
