1 1/2 cups water1/2 cup butter or margarine1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour1/2 teaspoon salt1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper6 large eggs8 ounces crumbled blue cheese8 bacon slices, cooked and crumbled1/2 cup finely chopped green onionsCombine 1 1/2 cups water and butter in a heavy saucepan; bring to a boil. Add flour, salt, and peppers; cook, beating with a wooden spoon until mixture leaves sides of pan and forms a smooth ball. Remove from heat; cool 4 to 5 minutes. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in cheese, bacon, and green onions.Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto lightly greased baking sheets.Bake at 400F for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm or at room temperature. Makes 6 dozen.
