Hello,
I am looking for a very old Shrimp Dip Recipe. It made a big batch of dip. I remember that it had Shrimp, Hellmann's Real Mayo, a whole bottle of Heinz Chili Sauce, 2 8 oz packages of Cream Cheese, Horseradish Sauce, French Dressing and maybe Worcestershire Sauce in it. It might have been on the back of a Potato Chip Bag. I cannot find my recipe for it and do not remember the exact amount of a couple of the ingredients.
So hoping that someone could help me out.
Thanks and have a Merry Christmas,
Jeanie
Oh my, please excuse my typing errors.
I should have typed Hellmann's and Worcestershire Sauce.
So sorry,
I got this one from my aunt over 40 years ago. I've been making this one every Christmas and New Years. It sounds similar to the one you're talking about.
I usually double the recipe. We've always served it with Bugles. This one is really delicious!!!
Shrimp Dip
1 cup mayonaise
5 oz. chili sauce
2 to 3 stalks of celery finely chopped
2 cans of tiny shrimp, drained
4 Tblsp. horseradish
Drain and mash shrimp, add remaining ingredients, and let set overnite.
Thanks for responding.
It does sound very close to what I made. I will try yours out. I have all of the ingredients to make it now. The one I had did not have celery in it, but I would serve a plate of cut up celery and other vegetables along with other snacks. I know why you always double it, it is so good.
