Recently, when I have used baking soda in muffins or breads, I am tasting a somewhat bitter taste in the final product. It is a new box of baking soda so that isn't the problem. I used one teaspoon of baking soda and one teaspoon of baking powder in the muffins that made yesterday and I can taste the bitter taste when eating them. Any suggestions?
It didn't have either in it.
I agree, too much soda in that recipe.
Also, my baked goods have a "metal" taste unless I use "aluminum free" baking powder. It will say aluminum free on the front of the container.
