Hanley's Bakery in West Roxbury, MA was the place to buy home made bread!  They sold a small dark color and a little sweet loaf, called "Honey health" bread.  It was too sweet for sandwiches, but very good with butter.  It was my brother's favorite bread, but now the bakery is closed.  If anyone has a recipe for a bread like that, I would appreciate you sharing it.  Thanks!

    HONEY HEALTH BREAD
    2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
    1/2 c. plus 2 tbsp. rye flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. honey
    2 tbsp. vegetable oil
In large bowl, combine dry ingredients. In small bowl, combine the rest of the ingredients. Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until the ingredients are just combined.

Pour the batter into a well greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Freezes well. Can double the recipe. Low calorie.

The Helth Bread is vewry much like Irish Soda Bread except it is sweet where the Irish is not.
