I am entertaining this evening and just found out that at least one of our guests cannot have seeds or nuts.  Of course all of my favorite recipes have both chocolate and nuts in them.  Can anyone please help with something fast and good?  Please and thank you.

Do you need appetizer, main, side, salad or dessert recipes?

Mainly dessert, but appetizer and main dishes would be helpful for the future as this couple come over often just for snacks and desserts, but several times a year it is for dinner.

    Thanks for your help.

The person who cannot have nuts or seeds must have diverticulosis.  I am in the same boat, that means; no strawberries, no raspberries, Blue berries or black berries or chopped nuts. But I bet they can have smooth or creamy peanut butter unless they are allergic to nuts(I doubt it).

Give the person a call, you can always make some dessert that has peanut  or other creamy nut butter in it.Peanut butter bars come to mind or peanut butter cookies everybody would enjoy.

You can also make snack mixes and leave the nuts out of a small part of the mix: problem solved.

Diverticulosis are pockets in the colon.  The walls of the colon weaken with age and form pockets like bulges in old tires. Hard pieces of nuts and seeds can get stuck in those pockets and cause a VERY painful infection that requires 3 to 5  days  in the hospital and is called diverticulitis. Like I said, call the person or just leave nuts and seeds like sesame seeds out of a small art of your mixes. That should not cause you any inconvenience.

If  YOU like nuts in your salad, leave them out when those folks areover and instead flavor the dressing by using walnut oil.

I bet the person can eat chocolate chips without a problem since they melt in your mouth or stomach. Goodness, it should be fairly easy to think of some recipes that d not have chopped nuts or whole seeds in them, especially dinner or dessert. Peanut butter pie is a great desert with a nutty flavor. Peanut butter or cashew butter pound cake with a chocolate glaze and whipped cream is not to sneeze at. It sounds like all you think of are YOUR favorite recipes. Maybe you could do a few days a yer without nuts or seeds in your appetizers, dinners, snacks and desserts without depriving yourself. I am sure it would not hurt you.

Just leave the nuts and seeds out of  food on the few days a year  those special  friends/guests come over, seems simple enough to me.
