    This is one you don't want to miss!!
    My husband is not a fan of roast, and I can't fix one worth a hoot. I tried this over the weekend and it is to die for. I did use beef broth instead of the water. I'm going to try using this on a pork roast to see what happens.

    I will be trying this for the first time this week. I have it scheduled for Sunday. I was at the store today and bought the seasoning packets. Nearly fell over that they charge $1.25 for 1 pkt. of brown gravy mix. But all these wonderful reviews made me go for it.

    DIE FOR CROCK POT ROAST

    1 beef roast, large enough to fit in your crockpot
    1 pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix
    1 pkg. brown gravy mix
    1 pkg. Italian dressing mix
    1/2 C. warm water

    Place roast in crockpot. Mix all three envelopes and
    sprinkle on top of roast. Pour water in the bottom of the
    crockpot. Cover and cook on low 6 to 7 hours.

    Note: Can use half of seasoning packages without
    jeopardizing the taste. Also you can add more water at
    end for more gravy

    I can't say enough about this roast.I thought I was pretty good about making a roast but a few weeks ago I tried this and will never go back to my old ways. The only thing I did different was to brown my roast first, I'm weird about raw meat and crock pots. You have got to try this.

    I am curious though to see if anyone has tried the pork roast. Sounds good, but please post the results.

    I agree. It's the best.
    Right now I have a pot of stew (posted by September Sue) in the crockpot using about the same ingredients. The only thing, it called for a can of pepsi and I used water.
    It smells so good.

    this is one of my favorite & most requested recipes from the BB...I make this at least once a month & everyone loves it...my grandmother has even started cooking her roasts like this now.

    I make this so much that I buy the big container of the ranch dressing mix from Sam's for around $5...also, you can get the great value brand of brown gravy mix at wal-mart for $.33 & it is really good...I find it cheaper to buy the 4 pack of italian dressing mix at a time as well.

    I did the roast for Sunday but we did not like it at all but then we havent had good roast meat in a long time. I guess it was just us cause everyone else likes it.

    My family loves this roast. I substitute red wine for the water and add some veggies the last few hours.

    It makes close to 2 cups of gravy.
