I lived 2 years in the Ozarks.Does that count?I made Christian costume jewelry for the shops at Eureka Springs for the Passion Play, of which I was friends with the founders.
I also have many photos from Fort Smith of the dentist office, blacksmith, jail and log cabins.Hanging Judge Parker's platform with nooses.Never to be forgotten, from 1974-6.Loved it there, and especially the people.

Now I'm in the Appalachians, since 83.Love it here too.

DH was born in Jonesboro. His parents had a farm just outside of Trumann. The families of both his parents are from the Mammouth Springs AR/Thayer MO area. His parents were born around the Salem area. DH and lots of his family, brothers, nieces, nephew, cousins, etc. went to school in Searcy. There's a place called Mt Pilot, never been there so don't know if I'm correct or not in saying it's a town or not, but the cemetery there by the Church of Christ has mostly DH's ancestors buried there.

I was born in Little Rock, most of my family is from Blythville. My Grandfather was sheriff of Mississippi County in the thirties. I spent some time in Jonesboro but the whole clan is from Blythville, Ark. on both sides of my family. I do have a couple of people in my family from Steele, Holland and Cooter MO. but even they are buried in Blythville.

I can't let this go by without saying what wonderful people Arkansans are! And it's such a beautiful state.
We lived in Ft. Smith from '75-'87, when my husband retired and we moved back to Okahoma. We both just loved living there and made so many friends. A lot of his employees lived around there - Mansfield and Greenwood were a couple of places.
My husband was born and grew up in Mena, as did my dad.
Be proud of your state and your people!
