~Apple Dews~
This recipe is the most versatile and GREATEST tasting EASY recipe I've ever had, this is the twist we had last night. (Used Splenda in place of sugar)
2 cans Pillsbury Crescent Rolls (lower fat crescents)
2 Large fresh apples
1 1/2 cups light brown sugar (Splenda brown Sugar)
2 sticks butter (used can't believe it's not butter)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon lemon (added Zest)
1 teaspoon Saigon Cinnamon
1 can Mountain Dew
1 1/2 cups of toasted pecans
Roll 2 pieces of fresh apples in Crescent roll, starting with the large end. Put in pan (9x13") sprayed with non-stick oil.
Boil together: Butter and brown sugar for about 7 minutes, remove from heat and add Cinnamon, lemon and vanilla. Pour over dumplings. Sprinkle about 1 1/2 cup of toasted pecans over the top. Pour 1 can Mountain Dew over dumplings. Bake for 30 minutes @ 350 degrees. Serve with vanilla ice cream, if desired, we did not desire!
