We have a dove nesting in our apple tree. They make such a shallow nest I don't know how the eggs stay in the nest. The DGC found a robins nest a couple weeks ago and they have been watching the hatching and now the chicks are almost ready to fly. I'm sure the next time they check the nest will be empty.

We put out blue bird boxes and the sparrows have taken over. Even saw in Birds & Blooms magazine to put the hole underneath the box. Didn't work, the sparrows are using it.

The gypsy moth are back here again. I was hoping people were wrong but saw evidence at the picnic on Sunday. I hope they spray next year.

Did anyone watch the launch today. I held my breath and had fingers crossed.

Oh, must tell you this and ask for prayers. My DIL was not raised in a church, altho' she said she was baptized. I believe Catholic. However, whenever I mention church she just turns it off. Today I was telling DS something about our new minister. Afterwards she was asking me how you become a church member, etc. She said "I'm thinking if I went to church I'd probably meet more new people." I agreed. I've been praying the Lord would lead her and my son to church. Praise the Lord! (Pray for both these sons!) The oldest does go to church.

I didn't watch the shuttle launch. But the danger is when they come back to earth. I would certainly be fearful if it were my son/daughter, sister/brother, whatever.

Lily, prayers are on their way.

Pat, our hummers arrived in April and than disappeared for about two weeks. DSIL told me that she was talking to a man and he said that when the locust tree blooms they will go to them. That was some time ago and I imagine if you have the tree it would be done blooming now too. But maybe there is something else that attracts them away from the feeders.

Hi everyone,I guess everyone had a good fourth of July! it turned out to be a sunny day and on the warm side. Not too bad now. No Hummers today here that I saw. I love the finch and also the mourning doves. Not happy about the sparrows or starlings.

No I didn't watch the launch, thought what a "chance" they are taking. [shaking my head"]

Lily will put them in my prayers, so many things to remember may have to start a list.:)
