Found this on this BB. Gave it to friends who made it and RAVED about it.

    Ed

    Prime Rib Roast

1 4 to 5 lb. Boneless Beef Rib Roast
    1 T Worcestershire sauce
    1 t garlic powder
    3 T cracked black pepper
1 box (3 lb) coarse kosher salt
    1/2 c Water
    2 disposable aluminum oval pans

Completely cover bottom of (doubled) pan with about half of the salt
    Brush roast with Worcestershire sauce.
Rub in garlic powder and pepper all over the roast.
Place roast on top of the salt.
Using the other half of the box, cover the roast in kosher salt.
Gently drizzle 1/2 cup water over roast.
Place in preheated 500 degree oven.

Bake, uncovered, 13 to 14 min per pound for medium. (Use meat thermometer.)
    DO NOT OVERCOOK!
May want to check doneness at 120 to 130 degrees internal temperature.
Crack salt covering off the prime rib, slice, and serve.

Some people cook a roast for 5 minutes per pound at 500 degrees, then turn off the oven, (or the grill) leaving the door (or lid) closed for another 5 minutes per pound.

I make mine the same. It is a little undercooked for us, but I use a meat thermometer. Make sure they take the bone out too!

It is better than any restaurant! I make this at least 4 times a year.

I rub my roast real good with olive oil then season generously with just kosher salt and course ground pepper.

Preheat the oven to 500 degrees then put roast in for 20 minutes. Dial the temperature down to 325 degrees and cook 15 minutes per pound.

Take it out IMMEDIATELY (for medium) and tent with foil for about 20 minutes before slicing.

    Yum! My favorite meal.
