    Happy Chanukkah to you too!

I already started eating the chocolate gelt...LOL And I found the cutest decoration, which I put on my mantel. It's a plush stuffed menorah that stands up by itself, has pockets with stuffed felt candles in it to put in the candle holders. You can really put them in and it looks so darn cute...says Happy Chanukah embroidered on the front. It's bright royal blue and red, with multi-colored candles. I loved it and thought it was so happy looking, had to have one for my mantel.

I think I need to go to the store today and get potato pancake mix! And applesauce!

    Happy Day to all!

Sharon that sounds so pretty! YOu just reminded me about applesauce!! Thank you! I'll never forget the 1st time I made DH potato pancakes (from a mix) and he tried it and I could tell on his face that something wasn't right and it turns out he had never had the mix ones and his granny used to hand grate the potatos and he hated the ones I made in comparison!!! I've never used a mix since but I'm going to use my food processor to grate them....if I feel like dragging it out. I'd have to anyone to have grated knuckles in their latkes!

That should read "I'd hate to have anyone have grated knuckles, etc"

Yes, I know the hand made ones are FAR superior to the mix...the texture is so different. But it's only me here, so I think I can stand it! I don't have my cuisinart here in this house...all my good stuff is still back in TX. I wish somebody would make me some real potato latkes!

Do you think if I chop up some onions real fine and add them to the potato mix, it might improve it?

I wish I could send ya some! I actually like the texture of the mix ones....reminds me of my granny! Oh well.

Which brand do you think is better, Manischewitz or Streits?

I like sour cream with 'em too...

I haven't made those in years but I always used Streits b/c the Streits factory was by my granny's house on the Lower East side of manhattan. I love them with sour cream but Dh hates sour cream!
