    (o: Secret Sister Swap #2 Favorite Recipes (July '06 - Dec. '06) :o)

Here we go again! As I did for the very first Secret Sister Swap, I collected recipes from the participants of the second Secret Sister Swap to compile into yet another cookbook of treasured T & T Faves!!!! I begged! I nagged! I begged and nagged some more, and a majority of those wonderful Sistas came through for me yet again with a veritable plethora of awesome recipes! This second cookbook actually has 6 separate sections with well over 500 recipes collected! My initial foray into the archives to collect hidden treasures like I did for the first SS cookbook proved to be far too difficult a task, as we all know how well the infamous 'search feature' has been working these past months!! ! :o) NOT!! Anyway...... here again, is the end result of all my persistent nagging! Were it not for the generosity of all those awesome ladies, this cookbook would never have come to be! If you saw the first one I did, either by requesting a copy of it or on the 'Favorite' thread I posted here on Recipes, you'll find this second one to be quite different! AND, dare I hope, just a bit more FUN because of all the extras I included!!

Again, special thanks to ALL the SS's who contributed recipes!! As in the first, there were several ladies I dubbed as 'Honorary Sistas' because they were not actually a part of the swap, but DID share a few of their Faves!!

Extra special Thanks to two fantastic moderators HDMac (Marcia) and cllw (Linda), who did a really bang up job with this second group!! As great a job as you did on the first swap, you did an even more awesome job on the second one!! You know, you two could make this your full time jobs!! Oh!! Sorry!! You already HAVE!! :O) Seriously, you two are the bestest!!!

This is dedicated to ALL of you Awesome Sistas and Fantabulous Cooks!!

†God's Special Blessings on EACH of you†

This cookbook project definitely will take a few days to complete. Because there are well over 500 recipes total, I think I'll post each section seperately to make it easier to find specific recipes!! Each thread will start out the same as this one to tie them all together! Each thread will be categorized and the recipes and their contributors listed alphabetically at the beginning of each thread. At the very end, I will, as is becoming my habit with these rather lengthy threads, make a page by page index of all the recipes in THAT particular thread. Perhaps you may want to print a copy of it to make it easier to find a particular recipe or two!! Just a thought! :O)

    The 6 sections are:
Secret Sisters Favorite Recipes! (167 recipes)
Secret Sister Swap #2 Summertime Faves!! (67 recipes)
Secret Sister Swap #2 Popcorn Recipes!!! (This was a LOT of fun!) (66 recipes)
Secret Sister Swap #2 Fall Favorites!! (99 recipes)
Secret Sister Swap #2 Holiday Favorites!! (94 recipes)
Secret Sister Swap #2 Travelin' Recipes..... (You gotta see this one to believe it!:O) (16 rec.)

    And so it began..................

*¨†¨* August 2006 Secret Sister Messages and Thank yous! *¨†¨*
Posted by: sandee1 Posted on: 8/21/2006

If I call you my Secret Sister,
You will always share a piece of my heart.

    I will always pride myself,
To always be true to you.
As much as I need a friend,
    So must you.

I will also share a place in your heart,
To be there whenever you need me.
I may not be there in flesh,
But I will always be there in spirit.

I will cope with your moods,
And try to understand your needs.
    When you are angry,
    I will laugh with you.

    As sadness overwhelms you,
    We will cry together.
If you feel down and kicked,
I will pick you up and brush away your doubts.

At times when you wish to talk,
My attention will be all yours.
    Being a friend I don't take lightly,
It's my desire, never a chore.

When you become confused and lose your way,
Let me guide you in the right direction.
Lean on me when you need support,
Let me share your sorrow and pain.

You will never be completely alone,
A piece of me will always be with you.

    Sandee

    Creamy Crab Cheesecake

    Posted by: grammacookie
    Posted on: 7/6/2006

grammacookie (Doreen) says, "I usually make a circle around the outside of the top of chopped green onions and then an inner circle of sliced black olives. Then sprinkle more Bay Seasoning in the center. Looks nice that way."

    Creamy Crab Cheesecake

1 cup crushed Ritz Crackers (about 25)
    3 Tablespoons Melted Butter
2 pkgs cream cheese, softened (8 oz each)
    3/4 cup sour cream, divided
    3 eggs
    2 teaspoons grated onion
    1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning, or more to taste
    2-3 drops tabasco
    1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup crab meat, picked over for shells

Mix cracker crumbs and butter. Pat into bottom of greased 9 inch
springform pan. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Cool on wire rack as you make filling. Reduce heat to 325º.
In a mixing bowl combine cream cheese and 1/4 cup sour cream until smooth. Add eggs, beat on low until just combined. Add onion, lemon juice, and seasonings and beat until blended then fold in crab. Pour over crust and bake 35-40 minutes or until center is almost set.
Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes. Run a sharp knife around edge of pan to loosen. Cool 1 hour then spread remaining sour cream over top.
Refrigerate overnight then remove from pan. Let come to room temp about 30 minutes before serving.
Serve with crackers and cut into wedges to use as a spread.

    Nacho Fiesta Dip

    Posted by: cllw
    Posted on: 7/9/2006

cllw (Linda) says: "I use a bowl that I am going to put dip in. We wouldn't want to have to wash a plate if we don't have to!"

    Nacho Fiesta Dip

1 tube of flavorful sausage (I use Jimmy Dean)
1 can Fiesta Nacho condensed soup milk
    Salsa
    chopped green chiles, optional

Remove metal ends from sausage. Place on microwavable plate or medium size bowl. On high for 7 minutes (1000 watts).
Remove from microwave and let cool. Remove from plastic covering and crumble with hands into tiny pieces.
Add condensed soup to sausage. Add about 1/2 can milk to mixture.
Add desired amount of salsa. (I generally add about a half a can.)
Add chiles and stir. Add more milk to desired consistency.
Microwave about 3-4 minutes. Serve with chips.
