Gift [G] ~~ PRESENTS from the KITCHEN ~~

    Blestmomof6 originally started a thread - New Thread...G-i-f-t-s from the Kitchen -

However, when TOH blocked posting pictures in 2004, this post could no longer be bumped due to the G-I-F-T word. Here are the recipes from that thread.

    Kitchen Potpourri
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    1/4 cup whole cloves
    1 cup whole allspice
10 cinnamon sticks, each 3" long, broken into pieces
    8 small bay leaves
    4 whole nutmegs
    3 Tbsp. star anise
    2 Tbsp. whole cardamom pods

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl, mixing well. Store
indefinitely at room temperature, stirring occasionally. I thought that if you placed this in a nice crystal bowl or some nice, colorful pottery and gave as a hostess gift at a Christmas party, it would be appreciated.

    Subject: Dove Body Wash-recipe

I made this recipe last night and thought I would share it. The Body

Wash comes out nice and thick and creamy.

Grate 1 bar of Dove Soap--or any other scented soap or odds and ends

Add 2 1/2 cups water in microwavable bowl.

Microwave 6 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes. Mixture will be thin-but it will thicken after standing overnight.

Pour into any reuseable container you wish.

I washed and removed the labels from a cobalt blue Arizona Tea bottle and filled it with the body wash. Add a bow and label--great gift!!!

If you want to make the Liquid Hand Soap use 3 cups of water instead of 2 1/2 with the Body Wash.
    Enjoy!!

I found it :) thought it should be here too :)

    Flavored Spoons for Coffee

Buy a package of plastic spoons, preferably in festive colors. Dip them in chocolate (melted chocolate chips work well) and shake off the excess. Place them on wax paper and sprinkle with crushed peppermint candy or sprinkles. After they dry, wrap them in cellophane and tie with a ribbon. Put a few spoons in a coffee mug along with some individual hot cocoa or coffee packets and you have a great gift for those chilly nights!

Cute candle in an antique tea cup. I scour the garage sales and estate sales for cheap but pretty tea cups. You can then melt down old candle ends or any type of wax and add scented oil. Put a wick in - and you have a nice gift. Just add a decorative tag attached to the handle.

This one is so simple but oh so welcomed.

    Bath Salts:

    3/4 cup Epsom salt
    1/4 cup bakinf soda
1 1/2 cups coarse sea salt
    10 drops essential oils
2-3 drops food coloring of your choice
In a large bowl, combine the salts and baking soda.Add the food coloring and the desired scents.Stir mixture together. The drops of food coloring will braek up and distribute throughout the salt. The food coloring will not stain your bathtub.Pour into a pint canning jar and put a lid on it.Make hand printed labels and tie to the jar.
I got the essential oils at Bath & Body(some can be pricy)and the big(10 lb.)sea salt at a craft store.Depo!!!
