    Chili

With winter right around the corner, I'd like to share my chili recipe. Makes 4 quarts.

    Ingredients:

    3 lb. ground chuck
    2 lg. onions, chopped
    4 cloves garlic, minced
    1/4 cup chili powder
    2 tbsp. all purpose flour
    1 tbsp. sugar
    1 tbsp. oregano
    1 tsp. salt
2 cans (28 oz. each) diced tomatoes, undrained
3 cans (16 oz. each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed

    Directions:
Combine ground chuck, onions and garlic; cook until; meat is browned. Drain well. Stir in next 6 ingredients. Cover and simmer one hour, stirring occasionally. Add beans and simmer an additional 20 minutes. Offer your guests diced raw onion, jalapeno slices, and shredded cheddar cheese as toppings,

Flavor is best when prepared a day ahead. Freezes well.

I just made a big pot of chili and have a pan of cornbread in the oven. Yum Yum! Your recipe sounds good, too!

Thanks for stopping by. I generally just buy the store brand of chili powder. I am presently using Kroger's.
